55th Inauguration And Day's Events - Live Thread
Didn't bother me that much; I knew the MSM was magnifying their presence. It was all the more reason for me to keep the positive vibe going. That's what WE are all about.
You have FReepmail.
Ah Ramsey Clark was givin' some speech and later they started to play some drums and dance around in a hogus, pogus primative ritual of some kind.
U.S. President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush make the 'Texas Longhorn' sign as a Texas float goes past the reviewing stand for the Inaugural Parade in Washington, January 20, 2005. Bush was sworn in for he second term in office earlier in the day.

Though joyous, this is, afterall, a solemn event.. the marking of the transfer or continuation (YAY) of power .. filled with beloved and consistently enacted pomp, tradition and protocol. Thank God for America .. home of the free, because of the brave!!
US President George W. Bush walks through the Rotunda on Capital Hill in Washington, DC, to take the oath for his second four-year term in office.
So touching ... God Bless and love Justice Rehnquist in his challenge. He was determined to do his duty today for the country and the Court he loves; he did that today, with great dignity and courage.
Outgoing US Secretary of State Colin Powell (2nd-R) greets his successor Condoleezza Rice (2nd-L) as he arrives for inaugural ceremonies at the US Capitol Building in Washington, DC. (Condi looked just beautiful (as she is on the inside as well, and she arrived with a really really good looking man .. hope he's her beau.)
From last night: Daughter Barbara (sic) (IT'S REALLY JENNA) returns a kiss from her father and US President George W. Bushduring the Black Tie and Boots Inaugural Ball in Washington.
Hey world!! You see these two guys??? Don't mess with 'em!!

Glorious glorious day!! Can't wait to see the parties tonight!! (What a long day for the First Family .. whew!)
She's probably great fun! What a grand First Lady! : )
I don't know if you noticed this during the parade, but one crew following behind an horse unit saluted the President and he made a point of signaling back a thank you.
Look at Laura. Hook 'em, horns!
Sanitation for the nation!
Tough school... West Point of the south, but with a Rat Line.
It has softened since they brought the ladies in; but there are still very few at the school.
I think about 430 to 440 in each freshman class: the rats.
I think they drop over 25% out-right.
About 240 graduate.
They have a rock stiff honor code.
I read you. The protesters are really beyond the pale, like a bad dream of long ago. One commentator said the biggest group was around the Canadian Embassy; I found that interesting.
How about calling that show "A River Runs Through It?" Just a thought.
Enjoy the afterglow.....
God bless Justice Rehnquist indeed!! He is the HERO of the day!
Did ya just see Brit Humes Grape Vine?
And the Luncheon today .. Rummy sat with Jimmy Carter
And ... Karl Rove sat with Bill and Hellary Clinton
I missed seeing her escort . . . I just thought how lovely and classy she is, remembering her dignified rejoinder to "you know who" the other day. And what a great Secretary of State she will be; I'm so proud to have her represent us to the world.
Just saw your pic. You marched with Anaheim? Wow, excellent corp. When I first moved to CA. I checked out a Velvet Knights practice and they were trying to get me to join. (LOL, they never heard me try to play soprano). Yeah I remember seeing the Bridgemen, SCV, etc at DCI in Birmingham, AL. and a DCI show in Madison. Saw 27th a few times at Michigan shows also. I seem to remember seeing 27th play a half-time at an NFL game(again, in the 70's). Best show's though(for me)were in Riverside CA. Freelancers, Blue Devils, Santa Clara... smoking horns everywhere and great performances.
According to Brit's tasty grapevine, Bill and Hill were seated with Karl Rove today at lunch! That's even better than Kerry sitting behind the guy with the ten gallon hat.
And another note from the grapevine was the ABC website story that said they were trolling to find a military funeral to cover on this date. I KNOW I read here last night that some freeper sent that tip to Brit......now where did I read it...LOL!
I missed that. And here I thought I could multi-task....LOL
