55th Inauguration And Day's Events - Live Thread
I'm ready to hear "The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You!"
Oh yeah, that blue nightmare dress with that horrific hat.
Don't blame you after that Banana Republic remark. Although I wonder how many people think of it as political; maybe they think it's about clothing.
Hmmmm .. he keeps mentioning the Irish and JFK
I wonder if it's because The President and Laura looks like pure class?
God bless them for that.
Chrissy doesn't remember the brouhaha when a rich celeb wore a fur to the Emmy's.
It was Aretha Franklin. The next one to wear a fur to a big celeb event.
It was Snoop Dog.
I would really like to dog agility with my Labs.
One of them is incredibly athletic.
My girls are very fond of their vets as well.
Actually it is a whole family of Vets. Dad was a dog trainer and Vet for the Air Force. He has 2 sons and 2 daughters that are vets.
They really love animals and the animals know it.
That's exactly it. Chrissy, Cece, Peter, et. al. are so filled with bile that they can't resist being petty. They just can't hold it in anymore. We are set to undo all of their LBJ Great Society garbage and take enough money out of Washington that they'll never put it back again. They hate it so much they're ready to explode.
WNBC pre-empted Brainless Brian for Judge Judy. LOL
Oooooooo, did you hear Shep just put that Connelly thing in her place?
No No .. her coat was blue with a matching hat
The dress was an orangie red plaid .. and UGLY!
I'm watching this inauguration on my TV right now, and all I can think is "Thank God we did this".
Kerry's maddening, incomprehensible rant against the brilliant Dr. Rice on the floor of the U.S. Senate yesterday served as a reminder of what was at stake on Nov. 3. We didn't just vote Pres. Bush a second term, we dodged a bullet aimed at the freedom-loving, Democratic, capitalist heart of this nation. Kerry's beef with America and it's military is limitless in depth, and he was unbelievably unfit to fill this President's shoes.
Although I've long feared for America's future (for a variety of reasons), at least America proved that it is still capable of making the right choice. Flying in the face of a brutal, media-led daily attack on Pres. Bush's honor and integrity, America (at least 62 MILLION of us) still stood up for what's right when we need it most. America voted for a man that, for all of his many flaws (and there's not a month that goes by that I don't disagree with one or two Bush proposals), truly loves and admires this country with all of his heart, and will continue to do the best that he can (by the grace of God) to keep this country safe and secure during this time of worldwide Islamic terrorism and continuing warfare.
I'm looking forward to the political battle in the next four years as Bush attempts to pass his ambitious, visionary agenda past the hostile left-wing obstructionists in Congress and the Courts. It'll be a Hell of a battle, but if we can emerge from the next Bush term with overdue social security reform, continued tax relief for Americans, a few good Supreme and federal court appointees who practice the law rather than interpret it, and a strong Democracy in Iraq (a new symbol of freedom in the Muslim world to use against rogue Islamic fundamentalist dictatorships like Iran and Syria), then Pres. Bush will have a very successful second term indeed.
Many Americans still take the inaguration for granted-- Don't. A peaceful ceremony bringing to power the leader of a free and open nation is still a rarity in the world we live in. It's a beautiful thing, and it's a beautiful day.
I want to know how to set myself up with one of the Bush Twins!
They're just so clever, aren't they...?
No! I'm in my cube. Tell us what happened!
CeCe just had to get in a closing remark, "Social Security reform may not pass."
Shep said, "We'll see. Today it's all about the President." In other words, "Shut up and sit down."
No, what did he say???
