President and Mrs. Bush visited the National Archives to view some of our nation's founding documents.
In spite of some Senators Behaving Badly (particularly John Kerry and Barbara Boxer), the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted Wednesday to confirm Condoleezza Rice as secretary of state; the nomination now goes to the full Senate for a vote.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island: one day to go till W2!
Good report--THANKS! Looks like it didn't turn out to be too bad a day weatherwise, but one of the reporters said it was plenty cold. I'm still watching the parade! Laura looks like she's getting tired. How can anyone blame her?!
Have fun tonight! I'll look forward to your report.
Thanks for the post! HOw exciting it sounds.
Tears.
I have come to greatly esteem the value of basements and garages now that I have neither! I do threaten to put them in the garage because, in an idle way, it makes me feel better hehe.
Which is the best thead for following the festivities tonight? Have you seen one?
I've been watching tv and just signed on - I don't have a good tip for you. You might check the live inauguration thread http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1324538/posts and go to the end of it to see what's happening now.
Good evening Gretchen been a great day I have watched Fox most of the afternoon and late evening. Great speech by the President thought I expect MSM will destroy it tomorrow.
Just seen clips on Fox of the Balls catch you later or tomorrow
If you're still here, check out CSPAN if you have it . . . they seem to be covering the V.Pres. better than the other channels.
I am watching Cspan on the computer with Fox on the TV. I agree the VP coverage is better on Cspan.
GWB on Cspan
I do not perceive that relationship as provacative.
Hi snugs - so glad you got to enjoy the feast - I am sooo relieved everything came off without a (security) hitch of note.
Now I can go back, knowing he's safe, and watch his speech and really soak it in.
I can't get over how small our world is becoming. So different than when I was growing up and other continents ... well, they were WAY far away. Their problems with *their* problems. Not any more.
Yes, I had seen that marvelous account some time ago, but it brought tears to my eyes once again. The man is a gift from God to our nation.
