President and Mrs. Bush visited the National Archives to view some of our nation's founding documents.
In spite of some Senators Behaving Badly (particularly John Kerry and Barbara Boxer), the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted Wednesday to confirm Condoleezza Rice as secretary of state; the nomination now goes to the full Senate for a vote.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island: one day to go till W2!
Nah...that thing is armored far beyond the power of a frozen tomato to hurt it. Now if we want to see dents, how 'bout some of those protesting ninnies banging their heads into the new limo. Guarantee the limo would win. I'd pay to see that.
It's a nice photo. He looks wonderful.
The First Lady looked beautiful and the music was truly spectacular. Andrea Bocelli was his usual breathtaking self and the Gatlin Bros. were wonderfully inspirational.
CNN and MSNBC had coverage for quite a while...until the president left, but they broke for commercial frequently and so I was switching back and forth.
It looks terribly cold in DC and I just saw a behind the scenes report from a freeper who is in attendance as a volunteer who said many people visiting from far away are not appropriately dressed for the cold.
I liked the song the Gatlin Brothers sang. Wondered if they wrote it especially for the occasion, because the lyrics were so perfect.
LOL I just posted a smaller version which didn't do it justice. I just love the way he's thumbing his nose at etiquette.
Thanks for the pics, keep 'em coming!!!
I think Laura should wear warmer shoes, as long as the shoes are warm enough she'll be okay in the cool weather.
I'd never heard the song before and wondered if they wrote it specially for the occasion too.
I don't know if you saw Larry (?) Gatlin on CNN in an interview. He was very funny and said with a twinkle in his eye that he frequently writes about and talks about God, get over it. LOL
He is very good friends with the president and when asked what they talk about he responded that he tells the president he loves him and thanks him for doing a good job for the country.
Actually, etiquette be danged. Folks in their 80's are delicate, even if they are in generally good health. I'm not sure how good it was for them to be out sitting around in such cold for so long.
Good evening all
Good evening all
I didn't see it. Recorded it for viewing tonight. But I did happen to catch the Gatlin Brothers' song when I was home for a late lunch (Pacific time).
I'm sure they have some heat in that platform (they have everything else :)
Hello, Snugs.
Hello Snugs, glad to see you!!
OMG!...You're wonderful. Thank you!
Amen for peace tomorrow
I agree. I believe Woodruff said they had heated pillows on their laps but it does nothing for frozen ears. I'm surprised they didn't heat the area they sat in and thought at least three sides were enclosed in glass. I do hope necessary precautions are taken when they all view the parade tomorrow.
Thanks for the info on Rossi Gretchen prayers sent
Me too I will watch FNC on TV and have Cspan on the net
I hope so. Don't want anyone getting sick.
BTW there's some pretty scary news on another thread about a federal judge ordering the District of Columbia to turn over informtion about inaugural security to protest groups, including a terrorist-linked group.
