Eastwood Threatens Moore
The Internet Movie Data Base ^ | 14 January 2005

Clint Eastwood has chillingly warned documentary-maker Michael Moore he'll face certain death if he ever points his camera at him. Picking up a Special Film-making Achievement prize for Million Dollar Baby at the National Board Of Review Awards dinner in New York on Tuesday, Eastwood urged the Fahrenheit 9/11 director to avoid making him the subject of a future project if he values his life. However, Eastwood - a staunch supporter of the Republicans - did admit he and Moore have a shared view of how American society should operate. He said, "Michael Moore and I actually have a lot in common - we both appreciate living in a country where there's free expression. But, Michael, if you ever show up at my front door with a camera - I'll kill you." And when Eastwood noticed the audience had erupted in laughter to his threat, he emphasized, "I mean it." However, Moore's representatives insist the comments were intended as a joke: "Michael laughed along with everyone else, and took Mr Eastwood's comments in the lighthearted spirit in which they were given."

Eastwood's a Republican? I wouldn't have guessed considering his latest movie "Million Dollar Baby" is so pro-euthanasia.

Didn't realize the GOP had a set position on euthanasia. I'm a republican, for the most part, and I'm all for it.

Heard about this already, but good you posted it. I can see it now, being a Clint western movie fan of the highest order...I can see Clint ready to draw on this BAD GUY target that is so f'ing fat and f'ing large and so deserving to die, that the outcome is a given. Sergio Leone could not have proposed it better. He always made sure his "spagetti westerns" killed the bad guys that deserved it...

There are a few good people in Hollywood that have the strength to tell the major movie moguls to take their story-book liberalism and utopian BS, over-paid life style and put them where the sun does not shine.

I have alot of respect for Clint, especially when he was mayor of Carmel, Calif. Ride on Clint -- we love ya!!!

Yo, Mikey! I wouldn't mess with Clint if I were you! Actually I'm surprised that lardboy doesn't receive more threats. I guess no one takes him seriously anyway. Just a harmless little zit on the face of the earth.

I don't think he's conservative by any stretch. I believe he supports the Hellywood liberal causes, but just doesn't involve himself much in them or with those that do.

He's just not stupid. He knows that Moore tells lies and he doesn't need the hassles of having to defend himself against nonsense and other crap that isn't true at his age. That's my guess anyway.

He seems to have pretty close ties to some real libs in Hellywood including Tim Robbins and Sean Penn.

I don't know if the GOP has a set position, but most Republicans are pro-life on abortion, and most poeple who are pro-life on abortion aren't in favor of euthanasia.

Last two Eastwood movies:

"Mystic River" with Tim Robbins and Sean Penn
"Million-dollar Baby" arguing that the sick and the weak should be put down like dogs.

I hear Lincoln Chaffee is a Republican too.

I think he is more of the conservative type as in Libertarian, not Republican. For which I have an appreciation.
