"The Quran stands very firmly against taking human life," said noted Islamic author Zayn Kassam, chairwoman of the religious studies department of Pomona College in California. "If someone read a verse and used it to justify the killing of four people, I believe that person is unbalanced. ... There are very few Muslims who would support this sort of thing."
"Islam is a religion of peace."
If both of these quotes were true, Islam would have undergone a schism much like what occurred during the Reformation. The pressure to do so by peace loving Muslims would have been so great that the religious leaders of Islam would have been forced to publically condemn the worldwide brutality we have seen. Instead, the violence continues:
9-11 terrorism and the celebrating of the attacks
Continued violence against Christians in Indonesia
Continued violence against Christians in Africa
Continued violence in the ME directed against innocent women and children
The public viewing of barbaric beheadings In Iraq on Al Jazeera and other Muslim public venues
The killing of Margaret Hassan, an aid worker and a Muslim
The savage repression of people in Iran, in accordance with Sharia law.
Islamic clerics in Western countries such as Britain calling for the killing of westerners and the establishment of Sharia theocracies.
Not all Muslims are terrorists, but the ones who live peaceful lives are either passively enabling the terror, or acquiescing to it. Whether they do so out of pure fear, or because they see the extremists as a means to an end...namely, the establishment of a worldwide Islamic Sharia theocracy.. this remains to be seen.
