LOL! Should have said, "or he'll poke you in the eye with his amputated finger".
My own beloved 2001 Patriots were quite frankly a below average offensive team. Yet their defense and special teams made up for it enough for them to win it all.
This is getting ugly.
I just looked it up, and unless I missed something, every Super Bowl Champion has had a top 10 defense in either scoring or yardage.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder... LOL.
I love a close, tough fought contest...unless it involves the Braves, the Dogs or the Falcons. Then a blow-out is ok. :o)
Bulger is going to be sore tomorrow.
17 St. Louis Rams
40 Atlanta Falcons
4th Quarter/11:39 left
Call the fight, ref!!! This is Helen Thomas UGLY!!!
Yikes! That sack had to leave a mark!
Defense wins championships.
Congratulations.
The Falcon fans are fair weather fans....but they are GREAT fair weather fans.
The noise in the dome kept the poor guy from hearing Smith's footsteps.
Uh oh. They're calling big pass plays, could be running up the score. The football gods frown on running up the score in the playoffs, they're still punishing the Jaguars for doing that to the Dolphins. The Falcons are taking a dangerous path.
Thanks. Tomorrow should be fun.
2001 Pats is a good example
But it gave Brady what he needed to make him the current John Elway of the NFL. Dangerous as long as there is time on the clock and the ball in his hands.
Mind you, I depsise the Pats (and the Falcons even more so). But what is, is. No point in wishing your team in against the odds (now the Rams are gone, my hopes are with the Steelers, but after today you gotta like NE).
They haven't done that all year....even when given numerous opportunities.
I think they were just bootlegs to get Vick more running yards.
They'll grind it out the rest of the way.
The first three plays of this possession were called passes, but they seem to have settled into eating the clock with the run, that's the right thing to do in this. Stay good with the gods.
Yeah...I bet they run on fourth rather than field goal.
Uh oh... going for it on 4th down...the football gods may not like that...
Then again, all the better to run more time off. No big deal then.
