Although the death and devastation that now plagues Southeast Asia in the aftermath of recent tsunamis demands immediate attention by the global community, extremists in Sri Lanka, India, and elsewhere are contesting to aid and assistance by both religious and nonreligious charitable organizationsin particular Christian organizations.
According to the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, an international, interfaith, public interest law firm, the current "debate" in Sri Lanka, for example, is whether such assistance by Christian missionary groups and the like is a crime carrying a five to seven year sentence.

Hopefully they will all leave those laws in place for all to see --- how many millions more will die when they have to rely on their fellow islamic jihadists and other like them?
Israel has been banned - so they left.
The USA has been banned in areas, so now our Navy task force is rightfully pulling out.
Leave them to their own - they will have created their own hell on earth.
DO NOT SEND CASH ---- If you wish to support honest organizations, I would suggest you first ask your local pastor/priest/rabbi (provided you don't belong to the satanic nambla church of massachussets and vermont)
Religions are like sport clubs. If you are a Yankee supporter, you would not want some one to sweet talk your wife into supporting the Red Socs? Fans of certain club are more interested in increasing their fan base. There is a strength in number, you know. Therefore, Muslims will kill you if you convert one of theirs to Christianity, Jews pressure their children to marry in their faith to keep their fan-base from getting diluted. Christians spend millions to outreach Africans, and Asians to convert them to their club. Therefore, I am not surprised if the Hindus are also protective of their fan base. Somehow, I never found that Buddhists get excited over losing one of theirs to other religion, and to be fair, Christian and Jews also don't go around killing any one who decided to convert to the opposite fan clubs.
You're right that if one feels they want to help, they should use wisdom on how their efforts/money can truly help those in need (and not just the tyrants who govern them, or who intercept the money).
Our church has "friends" among the pastors in Sri Lanka (3 of whom lost family members -- a wife, a wife and daughter, and 2 children). We're directly supporting those congregations financially.
Former Christian? You sound like you've been burned by some Christians....
Wonder how many of them were already over there abusing children in the sex tourism trade.
What made you think that? I am Christian, but that does not stop me from being fair. All religions as I said are like sport fan clubs always seek to increase their fan base, and protect it from straying. That includes Christians. The difference here is Islam will kill you if you stray.
