No Kid Rock at Bush concert
Committee backs off plan to feature rapper after pro-family Americans express outrage

Kid Rock, the vulgar rock-rapper who initially had been lined up to headline the youth concert next week as part of the inauguration festivities for President Bush, will not be apppearing after all.

"He's not performing," a spokesman for the Presidential Inauguration Committee confirmed for WND.

No further information about the cancellation of Kid Rock was available at press time.

Word that the rapper will not join JoJo and Hilary Duff as performers at the Jan. 18 concert, which will be hosted by Bush twins Barbara and Jenna, comes after WorldNetDaily and other outlets publicized the fact that the committee was planning to feature Kid Rock, which caused several pro-family organizations to ask their supporters to protest his appearance.

We wussed out on this one.

We most certainly did. Kid Rock's got some awesome music, he's energetic, a hard worker, and more-or-less a self-made man. Crap like this makes the "Rich Uncle Moneybags" stigma of conservatism difficult to break.

"She is a 14 year old who sings about love and relationships and other things 14 year olds have no business singing about. "

Nor could she cast a vote in November. Good point.

I understand why some object to him. But I think they're being a bit uptight. He supports Pres Bush and the troops. So the Bush daughters (who obviously must be fans) requested he play at one of the inaugural parties. I don't think that's a big deal. Or anything people have to get all upset about.

I understand that he's a talented musician, who supported President Bush's re-election.

I don't think his music is appropriate for the inauguration festivities, however.

"Maybe they can entice The Brady Kids to reunite and add a little more edge."

I hear they've already signed "Up With People" as a replacement...

I'm disapointed in this. Kid Rock would have attracted alot of young people maybe to become Repubs knowing that He's a Repub.

I used to listen to him when he first got on the music scene. His latest stuff seems to be more southern rock type. What say you wd? I assume he'd not use his raunchy material at the inaugural. Not okay with dirty lyrics but a lot of people don't seem to mind. He has a large following. Personally, I've been listening to more classical music. I was listening to a lot of Lynyrd Skynrd recently.

What idiots. No wonder so many young folks see the GOP as stuffy, out-of-it, fuddy-duddies. Hilary Duff and JoJo? I gues the Osmonds were deemed too racy by Clown Wildmon and his followers.

As bad as poor reading? Who did I mean by "his"?

And since evidently, unlike me, you were referring to Kid Rock, maybe you could hone your reading skills HERE, tell me if that's the sort of thing you're okay with.

I'm not. Because I can read, for starters.

Way to go people! We just alienated a whole group of young people, that are going to be able to vote for a long time. republicans have said they are the party of inclusion, but have proved that they are not. This was a dumb move. I don't like Kid Rock, but its not like he was Boy George, or the Dipsie Chix.

I wouldn't mind seeing some good country rock stars out there. Or maybe some "Christian" rock band who have made the leap to the mainstream. But I think these family groups are going a little too far here.

I was listening to a lot of Lynyrd Skynrd recently.

Caught myself singing, along with "Sweet Home Alabama" a few weeks ago. I caught myself replacing "Watergate does not bother me" with "Abu Ghraib does not bother me."

You know what I think? I think this was an entire story manufactured by WND.

I never saw confirmation that he had even been asked, much less scheduled:

Except this from WND:

Inauguration planners seemed to be backpedaling yesterday about the event following a call from the Daily News. "Kid Rock has not been confirmed," insisted Tracey Schmitt, a spokeswoman from the Presidential Inaugural Committee. "But I can tell you Hilary Duff has been confirmed, as has JoJo."

They just want to have a good time and listening to Kid Rock is fun. Yeah, he can be raunchy but who isn't nowadays? JoJo??? She is a 14 year old who sings about love and relationships and other things 14 year olds have no business singing about.

LOL! Good thing Kid Rock is older and wiser than JoJo, so he can sing about "love and relationships," like in this excerpt from his romantic ballad "F*ck Off":

A shimmy shimmy cocoa cocoa f*ckin puffs b*tch
It's the K-K-Kid Rock with the K-K-Kid Rock sh*t
I'm on top b*tch and rock for tricks
Hella whips and nips and flip trips for whips
I get all the money p*ssy falls like rain
Been gettin' laid and paid that's why I never complain
If I ain't in it for the money I'm in it for the P
It's 1998 yo and you still can't f*ck with me
You don't be f*ckin' with the blue eye
F*ckin' with my 2-5 up your f*ckin' *ss like my shoe size

With my pants half hangin' off my *ss and sh*t
Bowl filled hash pockets stuffed with cash
I be the mushroom trippin' sippin' shots of Jack
'Cause the kids don't listen gettin' lots of flack
I be the do wa diddy up and down you block and
The 10 karat Kid with my triggers cockin'
The K the I the D R-O-C K motherf*cker and you still don't know me
So blow me b*tch I don't rock for cancer
I rock for the cash and the topless dancers

I roam the country like a Greyhound bus
Put faith in lust and in God I trust
I'm not Peter Pan I don't f*ck with fairies
But I bust more rhymes than virgin cherries
And Harry Carey couldn't call my game
F*cked so many hoes I'm in the hall of fame
And I show no shame from coast to coast
I don't mean to brag, but I like to boast
F*ck Off
Yeah right in your mother f*ckin' *ss b*tch
