Anyone else hear it?
Very good letter. I'm sure Brit read it. It sure made a difference.
We already did, right after September 8th!
Bingo. FR was first. The blogs were second. Drudge was actually one of the last ones to pick up on the story.
Well, thanks, but MizSterious pinged me to snopercod's great thread.....and I've about had it with the blogs.
I've never been internet savvy, necessarily, but even I can tell the diffence between discussion forums (message boards, what have you) and a blog. Just goes to show how lazy these folks are. (Journalists, I mean)
They deserve the pounding they are taking.
sauropod says to tell you he got this on tape. :D
Amen, sister! We all had to plunge into the middle of 'em and teach some the basics of FR. I never saw so many vanities!
We need yo get one of our screencap FReepers to get a screen cap of it to get on this thread when the replay comes on.
New Vietnam Storm Hits Campaign
NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2004
(CBS) By CBSNews.com Chief Political Writer David Paul Kuhn
The controversy over President Bush's National Guard service during the Vietnam War should have little effect on voters views of the incumbent, experts said in interviews Wednesday.
To gain electoral ground, these same experts contend, Democrats must establish a clear pattern that damages the commander-in-chief's credibility. But it may be too little, too late for Democrats. The public may be already numb to Vietnam politics in this presidential election.

Here is the thread that FIRST FOUND the CBS documents were fake.
:-)
bump to that, Howlin.
That's exactly why I compiled that thread; by that date, the "legend" was already taking shape that it was blogs, not us, that found the discrepancies.
For those who missed the broadcast, like me, it repeats at midnight EST. Set the VCR's.
I've got it on TiVo, could cap it now, but I have to go to tennis practice. Ping me later, if no one puts a cap up in the meantime.
I still think we need some kind of "newbie probation" period.....LOL.
Hats off to MizSterious and snopercod as well!
As for the blogs, FR is still the best clearinghouse for news and expertise of all sorts on the web. No blog can beat that :)
No way Brit could miss that attention grabber. :)
Skip the tennis ....and post it.....:-)
You know what I read today? That Mary Mapes HAD the proof in her hands that Bush had, in fact, asked to go to Vietnam, but other more experienced pilots were sent, but she just completely ignored it! They say it's in that report.
