Having been given the go ahead by The Mayor, here it is.

Does anyone out there understand why the FDA isn't doing anything (at least that little ol' me can tell) to re-evaluate the guidelines for blood donations? One of my best friends is at the bedside of her dying husband who has had a dozen transfusions. I'd like to donate blood, but can't, thanks to the FDA. I know my blood wouldn't go to him; it would just be a gesture.

Because I lived in Germany for bukuu years in the 1980s, I'm considered a risk for mad cow disease. Yeah, right. I get mad. And I'm sure I've been called a cow once or twice, but I was able to donate every 60 days for years with no problems.

This just frustrates me to no end. I'm not sure what the actual statistics are, but I'm thinkin' about 40% of current and former military can't donate for this very same reason. Kinda ironic, since I think with all the vaccinations, poking and prodding we receive through the years, we're more apt to donate than some sectors of the population.

Okay. I'm done.

For those of you who can donate, please consider doing so, if not in honor of my friend, just as a good deed for the day.

I am trying to catch up on news and work today. I was thrilled by the firings at See BS, but think dan bla^THer should have been fired as well. Wonder where the NAGS are? Three out four were women, and they should be outraged. I once asked one of my superiors about Bill Burkett, and he basically said "Don't mention that name here."

I personally knew Dennis Adams and George Conn (We called him "The Conn Man"), and I knew they were extreme liberals who would stop at nothing to insult Bush and hurt his military or political careers.
