Building a Useful Urban Legend
Fairpress.org (CCRM) ^ | 01/05/05 | Peacerose

We are six percent or less of the world's population, yet we give almost half. We are a very small number of people, relatively speaking, and we carry the weight of a dozen countries. Secondly, we maintain a military structure that keeps the peace of the world...Who is in the Indian Ocean with the aircraft carriers, helicopters, skilled personal? No one has the infrastructure in the world, we spend almost half a trillion dollars a year on our military structure, which is essentially the fire department of the planet and it is always at the disposal of people hit in a national disaster...Incidentally on food aid, we give 60% of all the food aid in the world. It is simply irresponsible to talk about the U.S. as anything other than the most generous nation on the planet. - Charles Krauthammer, FOX News Sunday, 1/2/05

Completely true. But in spite of the truth spoken by Krauthammer, the media leftists are still prattling about "stinginess". Why? Ignorance? I believe it's more sinister than that.

By constantly tooting away on the same note, they can create a new urban legend. They know if they say if often enough, truth doesn't matter. The stingy story will soon to be repeated in classrooms, coffee houses, late night comedy acts, between songs on the radio as it is picked up by those individuals who hold an socialist, anti-American world view.

The more it is repeated, the more true it will seem, regardless of the reality. Once the urban legend is well established, it becomes a very useful political talking point to illustrate the dangers of conservatism, the vile evil that is George W. Bush, and the need to subjugate America's greatness to the discipline of France and the U.N.

So in the face of truth, liberal journalists stick to their story. The rewards are too rich to give up now.

I want some debt relief from China, etc., in kind for all that we are giving...and more, since it's in their hemisphere!

Thanks for the writeup. I'm sure your interests lie primarily in tweaking the noses of our homegrown socialist pamphleteers, but this "phenomenon" is not limited to just "our guys". This is a worldwide effort on their part. It is THE 800 pound gorilla. The U.S. is in the fight of its life against a shadowy, scurrilous enemy, the likes of which al Queda and the Taliban can only dream of being.

BTW, I happened to pass by the teevee and caught O'Reilly's talking points. He's implying a co-ordinated attack on Alberto(?) Gonzalez by our faux press TODAY. Most of the big guns ran very similar pieces(front page apparently) accusing Gonzalez, and by association the U.S., of being torture mongers. And so it goes.....

You are so right. Their lies must be publicly discussed to expose their vile motives.

Truth be known, likely never have been. Trouble was, nobody could hear me yelling at the teevee except the neighbor's dog that went to howling whenever I got wound up ;^)

Of course the internet has given us a voice we never had before. AND it's being heard. The neighbor's dog is happier too.

Yes, yes, tweaking noses is so much fun. What to do about the rest of the world, I just don't know. A good start would be withdrawing our membership and funding from the U.N. and evicting them from our shores.

As for our future Attorney General, I think you and O'Reilly are right about the coordinated attack. More urban legend creation! The crazy part is that we are not in a war with anyone who respects human life and still the left goes on with this ludicrous display.

OH, NO! Stand back! {{{experiencing massive contempt and righteous indignation}}}

Now if that wouldn't put the media in "super screech" mode I don't know what would. Can you just imagine the howls?!?!

The BIG LIE works. The actions yesterday to condemn voting irregullarities is another example. Many Black Americans now believe they are disenfranchised because the fact has beeen beat through the rind encapsulating their leftist brains.

The stingy concept will be accepted next year as fact by media whores like Moira laison and Cici connaly when they say something like "and recall last year America was stingy....."

No reason they should drop a winning tactic. But the more we talk about it, the more people who will be snickering behind their backs and seeking out the truth on their own.

I've said it before, but the irony here is tough to ignore. That is, Blacks are doing their damndest to get back to the plantation.....by voting themselves back. It just blows me away they think for a minute that uncle Sugar will be a benevolent master. Double irony, if JJ and his fellow travelers were to be successful, we all go to the plantation. Whoya gonna call???
