What we have been saying has now happened. You cannot quote what the Bible has to say about homosexuality in public or you will be charged with a "hate crime." Philadelphia is only the beginning. If we fail to take a stand here, this "crime" will soon be applied across America.
In the 27 years of this ministry, I have never witnessed a more outrageous miscarriage of justice than what is happening in Philadelphia. Four Christians are facing up to 47-years in prison and $90,000 in fines for preaching the Gospel on a public sidewalk, a right fully protected by the First Amendment.
On October 10, 2004, the four Christians were arrested in Philadelphia. They are part of Repent America. Along with founder Michael Marcavage, members of Repent Americawith police approval--were preaching near Outfest, a homosexual event, handing out Gospel literature and carrying banners with Biblical messages.
When they tried to speak, they were surrounded by a group of radical homosexual activists dubbed the Pink Angels. A videotape of the incident shows the Pink Angels interfering with the Christians movement on the street, holding up large pink symbols of angels to cover up the Christians' messages and blowing high pitched whistles to drown out their preaching.
Rather than arrest the homosexual activists and allow the Christians to exercise their First Amendment rights, the Philadelphia police arrested and jailed the Christians!
They were charged with eight crimes, including three felonies: possession of instruments of crime (a bullhorn), ethnic intimidation (saying that homosexuality is a sin), and inciting a riot (reading from the Bible some passages relating to homosexuality) despite the fact that no riot occurred.

You don't think that screaming the Bible verse in post #5 at homosexuals is advocating violence?
So now I am trying to imagine the Evangelicals screaming this verse like your hypothetical "Kill the King" or "Death to Infidels" examples. Close your eyes and imagine a crowd of hostile Evangelicals screaming over and over the bible passage from post 5:
"If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them !!!!"
"If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them !!!!"
Seems an unlikely scenario doesn't it? Moreover you are sighting a verse posted by a Freeper rather then one that was reportedly screamed at the protest, so I'm not sure why you would imply it happened outside of the need to support your arguments.
Perhaps screaming out slogans such as "Death to F**s!!!" would match your examples better, and I think might very well be grounds for arrest. However I see no reason to believe such a thing happened in this case. In my experience modern Christian preaching, even in the most extreme fire and brimstone examples, often calls for repentance and forgiveness and has never advocated violence or any other persecution.
"Do you think the reason these Christians were arrested and charged with all these felonies, rather than a misdemeanor such as Disturbance of the Peace is that they are being used as an example to intimidate the rest of us?
They are a warning to the rest of us that if we dare to speak the Truth and quote the Bible, this will happen to us as well.
Most Christians are not as likely to protest and most are unwilling to risk going to jail. I think the homo-promoting agenda knows that, and are using this case as a scare tactic against Christians to intimidate them into silence."
DINGDINGDING!
WINNER!
Excellent point. This is the elephant in the living room that everyone is tiptoeing around. The truth is that all viewpoints are not equally true, all behaviors are not equally virtuous, all opinions are not worthy of respect, and all actions are not moral or worthy of promotion.
Homosexuality IS wrong, it IS unhealthy, it IS immoral, it IS destructive, it IS a psychological and spiritual illness.
That is the truth, and everyone (except for a few) are afraid to admit it. Until more people speak out, we're going to continue on the road south in the handbasket.
If you want on/off the list let me know.
holy CRAP!
this is insane!
Totally Insane!
Got that right!
Did you see this:

Homosexual lawyers in the Department of "Justice" pushing this case. Diversity, and all that.
Wow.
And justice was supposed to be double blind..
"I'm from the government, and I'm here to help you!"
(Gag, retch, spew ...)
Filthydelphia has always been this way. It will never change. Which is the reason the state is run by a bunch of crooks.
*snicker*
I wrote that in grease pencil on one of the high explosive rounds my unit sent downrange to the impact zone at Fort Drum.

"Hate Crime" charges against four Christian men, facing a total of 47 years in prison, were dropped after the judge viewed the tape of the incident.
Four Christian men were charged with hate crime felony when in fact they were peacefully protesting a homosexual street event on October 10, 2004 in Philadelphia. Concerned Women for America (CWA) urged the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to intervene. The four adult defendants, who face a total of 47 years in prison if convicted of the three felonies and five misdemeanors, pled not guilty.
Thanks for the ping, and HOORAY for the judge!
I would never have believed this was possible in America
Let's see how this comes out.
