Not at all. Nothing qualifies me to rate the legitimacy of your support for your candidate. And I wouldn't presume to do so. I will attest that the "due diligence" of Californians did (surprisingly) manage the removal a properly elected yet incompetent Governor. But the call for "do-overs" (ala Ukraine 2004) is a BAD move, regardless of your immediate sentiments.

BTW, I note that you have not yet argued against this position. But, as a conservative living in California, I "feel your pain" (if you are indeed a Washington State conservative).

If she refuses to revote, she's got some splainin' to do...

Why is that? They voted according to the law, counted the votes, and she won. There is nothing in WA law that even suggests a revote in the case of a close or controversial election. That is why Rossi mentions getting the legislature to pass law allowing it. Seems to me she could make case that revoting would disenfranchise those that already voted. This move does nothing except prolong the inevitable.

An election contest would bring every questioned aspect of this election before the Legislature or a court for review.

Who knows, perhaps the Dims will take this threat seriously. I hope Rossi will make good on it.

Wrong. State law permits a state court to annul an election if it has been proven to have been marred by fraud or incompetence. It would be up to the legislature to determine the date and conditions of a new election.

The only danger for Rossi is if they string him along with a non-answer or a maybe for a bit, and if that prevents him from contesting in court ASAP. He must formally contest the election the first moment after Reed certifies - he can't let any time slip by. Time is not his friend.

I think they (and King county) are merely stringing this along and letting time go by. Every day that passes is now their ally (now that Sam Reed has shown everyone that he's simply the Democrats best lap-dog). They want to get her certified and sworn in as Governor. Then there is fait accompli also working against Rossi.

It's only a "virtual tie" when Gregoire is behind. She's the "winner" with 129 votes by the hand count. Yes, I was here in the 80's. I have lived here my whole life.

Actually, I would support a law requiring any election that falls within 0.25 percent to be redone as a run-off.

I don't think ANY election can be held were the voting is 99.75% certain. Many places have run-off elections, and this would guarantee an actual winner.

I could handle the pain of a dem gov (we've had 'em for a while now) if I thought the election was legitimate.

As a product of the public school system I was indoctrinated for many years. Then one day I came home railing against America (like I was taught) and my Dad sat me down and explained to me how lucky I was to live in the greatest nation in the world. It still took many years and several hard knocks for me to realize that certain things were traditional because they worked, not because they were "old".

I have seen 38 states and always come back here. It is home and it is not bad.... even if the powers that be are.
