I have no doubt the enviromentalists will exploit this situation.
Is Communism considered a "natural disaster"?
I recalled those disasters as well, and kept telling my wife this wasn't the worst one. The media is so shallow and uninformed.
not sure the #2 on the list is a natural disaster, I always understood that the Ukraine 'famine' was on the orders of Stalin.
I guess that the worst natural disaster ever is the one you and/or your loved ones are caught up...regardless of the relative size.
That is just an awful statement.
The Spanish Flu epidemic of the early 20th century makes everything else look like a ride in the park I should think.
Well, the total loss of life here is still unknown, so it's hard to draw many conclusions on its ranking among disasters just yet.
The flood in China 1897 killed an estimated 900,000.
Somehow that fact just does not weigh very heavily in my mind....
There's no way to know exactly how many perished in previous disasters - It's only in the past century that body counts and 'world records' became fashionable.
Moral of the story........stay out of India, China, Russia, Africa, and Bangladesh. You'll be fine.
Several of the top disasters listed (famine/drought) were man made by communism. The top loss of life is still from communist purges and policies.
I'll bet the death toll will exceed 300,000
I know it isn't a natural disaster, but why isn't Communism on the list? It would be up there near the top.
I had once read of a Chinese earthquake that killed millions about 500 years ago.

Genesis 8:23 'And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.'
Worst natural disaster ever? That's an easy one. The Great Deluge of Noah. All breathing creatures on the face of the earth were destroyed except for a single male/female pair of every species plus Noah, his wife, their three sons and their three wives. How many died? All except for the eight on the ark.
