The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

The GOP ranks are bristling at the President's agenda on illegal alienshtt

9 out of 10 new neighbors in our area are from California. They have moved out due to illegal immigration and its consequences. The contractor next door said all building trades there are basically illegals who do the work for next to nothing, displacing trades workers who have lived in California all their lives who have fled the invasion of illegals.

When we lived in Arizona, Mexican music poured out of radios in the new subdivisions being built. The houses went up so fast and were so poorly constructed tile buckled, drywalled ceilings and exterior stucco had huge cracks on many mnay homes, and everything was done on the fast-track because so many people were moving in and wanted a new home. Las Vegas is another city similarly affected by these workers who put more dollars in homebuilder's pockets at the price of building quality and displaced American carpenters, roofers, sheetrockers, plumbers, carpetlayers, tilers and asphalt and concrete workers.

If this deluge of workers hasn't hit your town yet, give it time. Like fast food, restaurant and hotel/motel workers, it'll eclipse you before you know what's happened.

I do hope the GOP ranks put a halt to this whirlpool evaporating our American cities into taco stands and payday loan companies on every other corner.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SOLDIERS DISCOVER, SEIZE MULTIPLE WEAPONS CACHES

AR RAMADI, Iraq -- Soldiers from an engineer battalion in the 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Marine Division of the I Marine Expeditionary Force discovered 18 separate weapons caches during sweeping operations on Dec. 28 and on Dec. 29 in Ramadi.

The 44th Engineer Battalion, which has been serving in Iraq since August, discovered complete mortar systems, mortar and artillery rounds, rockets, explosive material used in roadside bombs, and various types of small arms and ammunition.

The number of discovered caches demonstrates the brigade’s successes in decreasing the enemy’s inventory of weapons and munitions. Weapons and munitions included mortar shells, homemade grenade launchers, assault rifles, anti-personnel landmines, anti-tank mines and various forms of ammunition.

The discovery, seizure and subsequent destruction of the weapons caches, greatly reduces anti-Iraqi forces’ ability to launch attacks against Multi-National forces and innocent Iraqis.

Northeastern University Prof likens 9/11 hijackers to American Founding Fathers

In this fiendishly obscene essay, Professor Shahid Alam of Northeastern University portrays the mass-murdering thugs of 9/11 as heroes on the order of the American patriots of Lexington and Concord. Check out also (at LGF) the sneeringly anti-Semitic reply he made to an email reproaching him for his hateful views. From Dissident Voice, with thanks to Anthony and MB:

On April 19, 1775, 700 British troops reached Concord, Massachusetts, to disarm the American colonists who were preparing to start an insurrection. When the British ordered them to disperse, the colonists fired back at the British soldiers. This “shot heard ‘round the world” heralded the start of an insurrection against Britain, the greatest Western power of its time. And when it ended, victorious, in 1783, the colonists had gained their objective. They had established a sovereign but slave-holding republic, the United States of America.

The colonists broke away because this was economically advantageous to their commercial and landed classes. As colonists, they were ruled by a parliament in which they were not represented, and which did not represent their interests. The colonies were not free to protect and develop their own commerce and industries. Their bid for independence was made all the more attractive because it was pressed under the banner of liberty. The colonial elites had imbibed well the lessons of the Enlightenment, and here in the new world, they had an opportunity to harness liberty in the service of their economic interests. Backed by the self interest of their landed and commercial elites, and inspired by revolutionary ideas, the colonists had a dream worth pursuing. They were prepared to die for this dream – and to kill. They did: and they won.

On September 11, 2001, nineteen Arab hijackers too demonstrated their willingness to die – and to kill – for their dream. They died so that their people might live, free and in dignity. The manner of their death – and the destruction it wreaked – is not merely a testament to the vulnerabilities that modern technology has created to clandestine attacks. After all, skyscrapers and airplanes have co-existed peacefully for many decades. The attacks of 9-11 were in many ways a work of daring and imagination too; if one can think objectively of such horrors. They were a cataclysmic summation of the history of Western depredations in the Middle East: the history of a unity dismembered, of societies manipulated by surrogates, of development derailed and disrupted, of a people dispossessed. The explosion of 9-11 was indeed a “shot heard ‘round the world.”

"REWARD FOR INFORMATION"
Dec 28, 2004

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Police are now offering a $2,000 reward to anyone with information on whomever tampered with the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Blackfoot.

Police say that someone tampered with the system during the first week of December. Someone purposefully altered a gas line, causing a leak in the building that could have destroyed the entire plant. An employee discovered the leak and shut off the gas line before damage could occur."

Wow. Awesome link. Staggering numbers contained there, such as the fact that a full 80% of US first quarter LNG imports come from Trinidad and Tobago.

They arent kids toy lasers, they are industrial larger version that have long range capacity. Some news agencies have stated they are available over the internet.

These types of lasers are commonly used in a number of industries and are featured in outdoor light shows. A variety of more powerful military-grade lasers are produced around the world.

something I just found ...

Homeland Security Committee Chairman Christopher Cox (R-CA) made the following comments on National Public Radio on December 30, 2004:

"This is the fourth New Year that America will celebrate since the September 11th attacks on our country. So far, al Qaeda hasn’t been able to strike us again. But intelligence reports indicate that even operating from his cave in Waziristan, Osama bin Laden has sought and received approval from a Saudi cleric to use a nuclear bomb against America. Bin Laden has publicly declared that obtaining nuclear or chemical weapons is al Qaeda’s ’religious duty.’

"To protect ourselves from this threat, we created the Department of Homeland Security. It’s now the third largest cabinet department, with some 22 separate agencies. Those agencies were supposed to merge, and work together, to share information — so that the infamous gaps in our intelligence and law enforcement could no longer be exploited by terrorists.

"Unfortunately, the results that Congress and the President hoped to achieve aren’t being realized. Last week, the department’s inspector general — on the heels of his resignation — called the department ’chaotic and disorganized.’ Another report from two leading think tanks said the department’s 22 agencies are ’rife with turf warfare.’

"The 9/11 Commission strongly endorsed this new department, but it also stressed the need for coherent and focused Congressional oversight to make it work. The complex web of jurisdiction in the House and Senate has resulted in 79 committees and subcommittees claiming the Department of Homeland Security as their turf. So while al Qaeda works to use a nuclear, chemical, or bio weapon on our civilian population, our counter terror efforts remain mired in bureaucracy.

"The Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert, is leading a truly heroic effort to fix this problem. But many committees refuse to give up their turf, notwithstanding the views of the President, the Department of Homeland Security, the 9/11 Commission, 9/11 family groups, and every think tank in the nation that has addressed this issue.

"On January 4, the opening day of the 109th Congress, the House will be asked to vote on creating a permanent Homeland Security Committee. Will it be yet one more committee — with 5 new subcommittees — joining in the homeland security food fight on Capitol Hill? Or will it consolidate jurisdiction, by focusing one committee exclusively on protecting our nation from terrorist attack?

"The security of our country demands that Congress place homeland security above the protection of committee turf and business as usual. That is what should happen on January 4. Whether this is what actually happens in Washington remains to be seen."
