The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

WASHINGTON - A terrorist attack on a tanker loaded with liquefied natural gas could cause massive damage a third of a mile away and could send a vapor cloud billowing more than 1.5 miles, government scientists say.

With the the nation clamoring for more natural gas, policy-makers are trying to figure out how to safely import large quantities of liquefied natural gas or LNG.

Israel, U.S. lobby EU on Iran

JERUSALEM, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Israel and the United States have begun efforts to recruit European Union officials to their efforts to halt Iran's nuclear weapons program.

Israel's Knesset and the U.S. Congress have begun a joint effort to convince European Union parliamentarians that Iran's nuclear weapons program is an imminent threat, the Middle East Newsline reported Saturday. The Knesset and Congress plan to send representatives to meetings in Brussels with EU parliamentarians on defense and security committees.

The program began in the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. Members of the committee have discussed the effort with leading members of Congress, and Sen. Jon Kyle, a Republican from Nevada, has been appointed to lead the Congress-Knesset panel.

Kyle has said the EU is necessary for any diplomatic offensive to stop Iran's weapons program.

Check out the work of Mark Purdey on the issue of neurodegenerative diseases. Purdey offers a paper from Acres in 2003 that gives lots of background. His central premise is that high levels of certain heavy metals e.g. manganese coupled with inadequate levels of other metals e.g. copper is causing metabolic imbalances that foster creation of +3 and +4 valence radicals. These radicals are causing the protein malformations that accompany neurodegenerative diseases.

Heavy metals could easily play into any neuropathy but I think you have to look at the history of scrapie and prionic diseases, especially in the British Isles, when looking at BSE. Magnesium/zinc deficiencies are connected with a wide range of disorders and diseases.
