Man Charged with Flashing Laser to Small Airplane to Turn Himself In
Banach's attorney, Gina Mendola Longarzo, has said her client was blindsided by the investigation. She described him as a father of three who tests fiber-optic cables for a living, has never been arrested and was not aware of any of the other laser incidents.
Banach ordered the green laser pointer online from an Oregon company called BigHa, Longarzo said. The company's Web site shows photographs of green laser beams shooting into space but warns customers not to aim at any homes or aircraft.
The incident in Parsippany took place a day after federal officials announced that they would investigate reports from around the country of lasers being shined into the cockpits of airplanes as they were about to land.
The net is full of interesting sites with daily propaganda-BS-threats.

"Man Has Fingers Cut Off During Attack"
Updated: Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 - 3:05 PM
MERRIFIELD, Va. (AP) -
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "On May 10, a 16-year-old lost four fingers when he was attacked in the Alexandria section of Fairfax. Three gang members pleaded guilty to malicious wounding and violating Virginia's anti-gang statutes. Investigators believe that incident stemmed from a dispute between the MS-13 and South Side Locos gangs.
Gangs are a growing problem in northern Virginia, which already has a joint federal, state and local task force working on it. The FBI estimates there are up to 2,000 MS-13 members in the area."

WATCHES KEEP 'TERROR' TIME
January 4, 2005 -- Al Qaeda reportedly is interested in acquiring wristwatches containing hidden cigarette lighters.
The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI issued an advisory to airport screeners to look out for the tricky watches, MSNBC said yesterday. The terror group is also said to be interested in Casio watches that have an altimeter function.
The advisory says the watches can be turned into "improvised explosive devices," but adds there's no specific information indicating any plans to do so.
Under current law, the watches could not be confiscated, but their owners could be subjected to further searches.

My mom has Altzheimers and I wish I could banter politics and news stories with her, but alas she cannot even recall what food was served to her an hour prior. All those who still have their mothers and fathers cognizant, should not waste a moment in appreciating and enjoying them while you can. Life is far too short!

U.S. military and intelligence sources are denying print and broadcast reports that terrorist Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi has been arrested in Iraq, MSNBC reported Tuesday.
MSNBC said senior U.S. military and intelligence sources told it the reports are not true. A newspaper in the United Arab Emirates, al-Bayane, reported in its Tuesday edition that the Jordanian-born terrorist had been arrested in Baqouba, Iraq. Iraqi Kurdistan radio also reported the arrest of al-Zarqawi.
The U.S. military in December said al-Zarqawi likely is in the Baghdad area."
