Laura inaugurates a trend (Laura Bush's Inaugural Dress to be "Ice Blue")

Laura Bush is getting another Oscar.

Designer Oscar de la Renta, who outfitted the First Lady for her big nights at the Republican convention and the Kennedy Center Honors, will dress her for the inauguration.

Her office confirms the incredibly important news that the gown will be ice blue.

Meanwhile, daughters Jenna and Barbara have chosen the younger, edgier design team of Badgely Mischka.

"They want slinky and sexy," a spy tells us. "The dresses are going to be figure-hugging with slits and sequins and decolletage."

All of the ladies will be equipped with matching coats - to protect them as they bounce around from ball to ball.

Not much in the way of thrills and chills, exploration-wise, when all you lack at the start of Closer Inspection is an OB-Gyn's set of stirrups.

Oh, I don't know. Stirrups, like Mace, get me hot.

I only go ballistic when the Moral Party which puts Virtue First tends toward excessively libertine behavior.

Or when she is reminded she was banned for being a Saddam Apologist.

Seriously, though, I do understand where you're coming from. I doubt I'll be ogling any of my daughter's friends anytime soon, since they are all of 13 years old. That's just wrong.

However, men in their 40s and older ogling women in their 20s is not all that uncommon - in fact, I'd have to say that it is definitely a guy thing. Sure, it may seem pretty sophmoric and immature, but real guys are normally that way. Nothing "gay" about it... Even conservative men have a definite appreciation for beautiful women. Nothing libertine about it - it's perfectly natural...

Politics cannot, and will never, dampen natural human responses, no matter how hard we try...

'It's the TALKING ABOUT IT and the posting of pics like you're on some Daily Dose thread which blows my mind. What is manly about that?'

Yet you are attracted to those types of threads. Methinks thou dost.......etc. etc.

Not really. I just turned 47, and am living life to the fullest I can. Kids are grown and gone, and I can do things for ME now....it's quite fun. You should try it...

Let's be perfectly clear for a moment, shall we?

I go ballistic when someone accuses me of shorting in the least a full measure of respect for the military. I'm an Army brat who takes these things seriously. I have family and friends involved, just like anyone else on this board, I'm sure. My love for my country just doesn't necessarily translate into Trust for my government. I'm Reaganite in that respect and insist on verification which -- as it happens -- is in increasingly short supply from the "strict constitutionalist" presently cobbling together our biometic national IDs, etc. etc. etc.

Reminding me that I was outed as a "Saddam Apologist" just makes me laugh. What a bunch of maroons. What in the world was that supposed to mean anyway?

Color me shocked.

Althought I think it is more disdain and hatred towards Bush and his administration that you project, rather than the "TRUST" issue.

But I'm not looking to "politic" my way toward getting self-styled "conservative men" at FR to act like they're really the great moralists of the GOP who put virtue first. I'm moralizing. Plain and simple. That's why I say things like "niece" or "daughter" and such.

I have no problems with and in fact do relish the fact men are quite naturally attracted to beautiful young women. I don't think women need necessarily show cleavage or slit their skirts to look sexy and attractive, however. Further, although we have ABSOLUTELY NO confirmation that the Bush Twins have made "sexy" one of their top requirements for their designers, the fact such a story is so enthusiastically received by the "moral" party is unseemly.

Bodies -- particularly those of fecund young women -- are the epitome of beauty and form in many respects. It's just a matter of whether you lean toward the animal kingdom (which must needs grunt, almost involuntarily, its appreciation) or have more decorum about it, that's all.

Many times, I cannot see the difference between this site and others where folks do not hold themselves out as the "moral" party of sexual responsibility, "sacred" marriage vows and other Unnatural Acts which can only be imposed on humans by a purposeful choice for Christianity or some similar MORAL code.

Your comments about politics dampening "natural" human responses is most interesting, Chad. I suspect it serves nicely as the handwriting on the wall I myself am trying to point out where threads like these -- replete with Rosa McGowan's ass in full view, if not also the Kerry daughter whose own flashbulb/gown mishap is the stuff of mockery, unlike the Bush kids who are sacrosanct somehow.

No ... just single -- never the opportunity for a "natural" selflessness that is the hallmark of motherhood -- and a general thoughtlessness as a rule.

But even my family can attest to the fact I've been trying hard to clean up my act, however yet rough I am around the edges. =)

OK, I'll admit I had to look up decolletage.

Most men look down a decolletage.

My mother, for example, could set IwoJima and Neets straight on just how "religious" I am regardless what strides I've made in that direction since first my longsuffering mother begged me to clean up my language on the forum and act like a lady.

Is English your second language?

Who taught you to write? Do they own up to it?

Do people in real life run away when you start yacking? lol

Well, that's just it, Neets.

I don't have to "project" disdain and/or hatred for the Bush Family ... that's done FOR ME anytime I tackle one of the administratin's decisions on an ISSUE that means something to me.

Save for my continued harping on their history as devoted eugenicists (which explains the fact that abortion--as part of a comprehensive population control/reduction/breeding plan--is a GOP policy) I don't care any more about the Bush family and assorted family intrigues than I do about any other Front Man's.

Well, I take that back. It does also bother me that their personal interests in China have perhaps irreparably sold us out in the long run. It's one thing to bitch and moan about Clinton's loading up a plane complete with porta-potty for a junket with the Chicoms but there's something unseemly in the extreme about "Hostage Fears for Bush Uncle" simply because Prescott happens to be taking a junket of his own for the inaugural transcontinental Chicom flight the same weekend our EP-3E gets taken down.

I suppose his being head of the US-China Chamber of Commerce does cut it a little close for me. And I wouldn't have minded if those who took Whitewater so seriously as to float an impeachment inquiry (which ended up to be all about the President's being quite naturally attracted to a young woman) had ever once mentioned the pass Neil Bush got on Silverado.

I think that when you go the extra mile to paint yourself a "pro-lifer" and moral and virtuous and "strict constitutionalist" and tough on crime and tough on terrorists, yada yada yada ... it wouldn't hurt if your actions and those of your own family evidenced some kind of consistency in this regard.

But I'd be insane if I decided to "hate" the Bush Family simply because power corrupts to a certain extent and there's no question that the elite in this country do not have to abide by the same rules as the rest of us. That's the breaks.

The fact of the matter is that it's just impossible to swing a dead cat on any issue -- particularly that of my pet issue, Human Life, much less the stuff of Carney Sideshows like S&L money-laundering scandals -- without hitting one of the Bush Family. Who cares. They've been around a long, long time and have been deeply involved in the political fortunes of this nation at large.

Given our present state and our projected direction at present, it's quite doubtful I can add a damned thing to that equation save: Res Ipsa Loquitur, baby.

(1) I don't talk nearly as much in real life.

(2) I type faster than most folks think.

(3) I've worked in law offices too long.

It's a lethal combination no doubt and I'm sorry about the unintelligible posts.

I've been considering reading women's magazines in an effort to appeal to the masses.

You look like you are trying to convince YOURSELF but you aren't doing a good enough job of it.
