You beat me to it. This guy really looks like Christopher Lee!
LOL... WWS came into mind before I saw your caption. :o)
That's a strange year they have there
Exactly what I thought too!
How come his beard is GREEN?!? ewwww...
The poster boy for the culture of death.
Where is the "victory" photo? He won an election with global opposition. A phone call? This is it???
Chased by a bug?
That was my reaction too. LOL
I also thought this was a pretty cool pic -
although since it was actually taken in 1999 I'm not sure how it qualifies for Pictures Of The Year!?
But then there are a bunch of shots included in this series I don't think are even worth a second look, let alone special recognition!
I guess maybe I just don't understand Reuters concept of "Pictures Of The Year" *shrug*
I have 2 new favourites taken during Dick Cheney recent visit to Afganistan.
One with the Afghan President Hamid Karzai and one with the troops

I did see one of the socialist shaking hands in Spain.
Where are the explosion photos?
The only terrorist attack image I saw was a building bombed in Saudi Arabia.
Those are both good 'uns.
Someone ought to write to the Reuters jerks to point out their wierdness and bias in succinct summaries.
Of course, everyone knows that there's nothing wrong with plastering front pages of Abu Gharaib prisoners 56 days in a row.
Thank you for for looking. These are good too, just added them to my collection.
