For the last two days, every time I visit Drudge, my computer gets hijacked by some pop-up virus. Am I the only one? I have to put the Yahoo-toolbar virus scanner on it and it tells me I got a Trojan horse hijacking my computer. It does get rid of it, but what's going on? Can someone please proof me wrong, so I can look for the cause somewhere else? Or have you experienced it too. Is drudge out of money or something to allow this scumware to infect his readers' computers?
You might be using MS Internet Explorer. Instead try using Mozilla Firefox browser. You can download it free from http://www.getfirefox.com
I never go there anymore; it infected me with spyware. Don't know about viruses, but I don't trust that site.
I dunno. I rarely go to any site anymore other than car sites like BMW, or FR fo my news and your views. There is a lot of crap that they "push" down onto your hard drive. AOL is another POS. I wish someone could help me select a BUSINESS ORIENTED ISP with a local dial-up.
Drudge's site is nothing but a wasteland of needless popups and other crap. What was once a decent site is now nothing but a whorehouse with Drudge as the head pimp.
Update first, how?
Thanks
It happened to me!!!!!!!!!!!
Right now I think I finally got it fixed, even my printer quit working.
I am not computer smart, does the spyware track your credit card number if you enter it on line in a secure site?
Great, thanks. I thought maybe I needed to update windows or something.
Guys, thank you for your speedy responses. I was going crazy here. I had a real bad problem with viruses a few weeks ago, they pretty much destroyed my computer. I got it fixed, so now every time I feel the comp is infected I freak out.
I will NEVER visit Drudge again!
Drudge's site drives me nuts. I use IE and after every time I visit (which I have done less and less most recently) I have to run AdAware and remove all the nasty things Drudge leaves behind.
Don't. IE is the problem. Use Firefox.
Dump Outlook too, if you're still using that. IE and Outlook are the plague carriers of the internet.
If you have your security settings set correctly IE will screen it out just as effectively as firefux. Don't buy the hype. ff is very flawed, does not render pages correctly, does not work with many forms, chat progs, vid embeds, the list goes on and on. Opensource is the biggest fraud and con on the net today.
I just went over there with ie and had no problem. I've got three programs that will alert me if anything funny is going on and none of them alerted.
