A high rise in the Chicago Loop at 135 S. LaSalle has at least one floor on fire. Live shots show a raging fire through the windows.
This is the LaSalle Bank Building. Began just after 1830h.

I really can't help from over here, my video card is not working real well for any FF I know to be able to watch it - I'm lucky that I'm barely getting the audio feed.
Of course none of my FF friends deal with highrises.........tallest building in about 5-10 counties around me might be 5 stories, possibly 6......
Staging area for family at 39 S. LaSalle.

Not sure where those places are. How long have they lived there?? Are you familiar with Church of Holy Apostles? That was our Parish. I still get the Sunday bulletins.
Well, I'm going to watch the end of MNF and hit the stack too. I hope it all works out well, and prayers for the injured.
From what I hear on the Old Scanner It seems they are winding down and sending trucks back to quarters, Things are really quieting down thank god
Church of Holy Apostles is where my mother goes. She lives just a few minutes away. She also does adoration a lot there.
My brother's lived there about 10 years or so and my mother's been there almost 5. They hate to move to Indiana because they've lived here over 37 years (between Ingleside and McHenry).
I would agree. Only steam and "white" smoke visible from the corner that was still burning. News is waiting on word from the FD regarding total casualties after they finish the 3rd sweep.
That sounds great. I have to call it a night. Prayers continue for all involved.

Does that mean we have a new pope?
It does look like the open flames are knocked down.
LOL!!!
After my husband passed, we had a tree planted in his memory. It's planted on the side of the Church where the Catholic Charities is/was. You can see it from Rte.31. It's an Oak tree. Father Sherry picked it out. O how I miss home.
You're bad!!!!!!!!
ROFL!
Incident commander reports that the fire is now knocked out. Overhaul and 3rd searches now starting.
What a job by the CFD!
In a fire like this, the white smoke is better, you are right.
The other comment was a reference to the vote at the Vatican for a new Pope. When white smoke appears a new Pope has been determined.
