I saw that some folks have been asking about lodging in the area for the Ball and Inauguration Day; so I did a little hotel/motel research tonight, and here's what I found:

Days Inn - 4400 Connecticut Avenue - 1 block from Metro. Rooms are presently available, from $160 - $179 per night. I just checked online and they will take one-night reservations.

Days Inn Arlington, VA - 2201 Arlington Blvd - 6 blocks from Metro. Rooms are presently available, from $112.50 - $125 per night. They want at least two-night stay.

Econo Lodge National Airport - 2485 S. Glebe Rd. Arlington, VA - Free shuttle to Pentagon Metro. Rooms presently available, $89.99 per night. One-night reservations OK, for now.

Quality Hotel Courthouse Plaza - 1200 N. Courthouse Rd. Arlington, VA. - Courthouse Metro 0.3 mi. - Rosslyn Metro 0.7mi, Courtesy shuttle available. Rooms are presently available, from $280 - $310 per night. One night stay is OK according to their online reservation center.

Comfort Inn Arlington Blvd/DC Gateway - 6111 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA. - Metro station 2.0 mi - Courtesy shuttle available 8am-9pm. Rooms are presently available, from $130 - 140 per night. One night stay OK, per online reservation center.

Quality Inn Governor - 6650 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA - East Falls Church Metro 1.0 mi. Rooms are presently available, $88 per night. One night stay OK, per online reservation center.

Comfort Inn - 5716 Van Dorn St., Alexandria, VA - Van Dorn Metro 1.0 mi. Courtesy shuttle available Rooms presently available, from $115 - $175 per night. One night stay OK, per online reservation center.

I have a HOTEL Room AVAILABLE---was going but not anymore...boo hoo...

Residence Inn Bethesda
Directly next to the METRO Red Line, about 6 miles from DC.

Two bedrooms, queens, suite, two bathrooms, kitchen.
$309 per night, but two or three FReepers can SHARE!!

Kind thanks for the info - I've been pulling my hair out (what little there is left of it) trying to find someplace after the dopes with whom I originally though I had a confirmed reservation just notified me (1 week after making the res.) that nothing was available.
