If we're talking about heckling, then perhaps the Aussies should apologize for heckling Bush.
You know, when Bush went to Canbarra and addressed the joint session of the Australian Parliament (Senate and House of Representatives) last year, the only heckling I saw came from the Green Senator Bob Brown. And mainstream Australia regards him as loony Left. And in this year's general election, the Greens was thrahed - they now only have 4 seats in the Senate (and none in the House of Rep). Who says Aussies were heckling W.?
Canada? I can guarantee in the House of Commons alone, at least 1/4 of all MPs are Bob Browns and vocal about this, and 1/3 would silently agree with that 1/4.
Ping to Australian FRers!
You're spot on.
After Bush's speech, there was a near riot on the floor of the Chamber as Members jostled to give the terminally moronic Brown a good belt behind the ear.
"the terminally moronic Brown..." who lives in a ramshackle house without electricity way down a dirt road somewhere in the backwoods of Tasmania, you mean? THAT screwball has been very quiet lately...wonder why?
"Don't forget to mention his boyfriend."
LOL! I wanted to...I almost did. And then I thought...I can forgive him that, but I can't forgive him for being a radical, a watermelon, an idiot, a bitter and twisted fool and an embarrassment. So, IMO being gay is the least of his handicaps.
thanks for the ping. I recall that episode as if it were yesterday. The creep made me cringe. Do I recall correctly, he was forced to leave the chamber, wasn't he?
With Jose Ramos-Horta
With Jose Ramos-Horta. His boyfriend?
thanks but that picture of lemon features won't show up for me. Mind you, he's so ugly it's probably just as well.
I think that's the President (or something) of East Timor he is posing with. I have no idea who Brown's boyfriend is...guess he is keeping the home fires burning in the old wood stove in Tasmania. (Wood for which, I hate to remind Mr Brown, one has to cut down trees!)
Good to hear about politics in your region.
Timor..... right you are. I would move to Taz in a split second if I had one million dollars
