I agree; it's kind of frightening.
My thinking is that if he was innocent, he'd get on that stand and beg for his life.
God I hope not Meg. I think Geragos is looking for any problem HE can CAUSE. ANYTHING.
An egotistical imbecile. He thought he had it all figured out and he would never get caught. Not only was that wrong, but now he is precluded from begging for his life because to do so sucessfully he would have to destroy his chances for a sucessful appeal.
He is precisely where he belongs, between a rock and a hard spot, with HIS life in the balance. I hope he suffers a breakdown. Hell on earth before hell in hell.

IMO Geragos will do ANYTHING to rescue his reputation including "setting up" one of the jurors!!
Do you think he's capable of having a breakdown? I'm not sure; he strikes me as just about as cold as anybody I've ever seen.
He's as cold as they get, but that won't necessarily keep him from breaking down.

He won't break down from guilt, but he might break down from being separated from everything he values and the knowledge that he will NEVER get near it again. No hope.
Funny thing is, that anytime Geragos tries to rescue his reputation, he digs himself deeper in the hole.

A guy called into a local radio show who said he had been in "the joint". He said that Scottie-boy wouldn't make it a year -- the inmates would take care of him -- they especially don't like wife/baby killers. Said that he could be under guard 24/7, but they would still get to him. Maybe life in prison will take care of him -- we'll see.
Jury called in, they're finally going to start.
Moving right along; I guess it wasn't a big deal, huh? Again.
None of the jury looked at Scottie!
You're right; he would breakdown for HIMSELF, but nobody else.

I think your PIFFLE is absoultely charming. :)
It sets a dangerous precedent whereby police and prosecutors can accuse anyone of anything and get a conviction.
By this standard of evidence we can convict and execute *witches*.

I repeat, there was absolutely NO physical evidence. Phone calls are not physical evidence. Of course I could tell someone on the phone all day long that I was the mystery person on the grassy knoll in Dallas in Nov 63. That does not make it so nor is it physical evidence. I have no idea how any thinking person could find him guilty with the lack of physical evidence.
