Maryland public school students are free to thank anyone they want while learning about the 17th century celebration of Thanksgiving — as long as it's not God.

And that is how it should be, administrators say.

Clear cut case of government enforcing the religion of secularism on an unwilling public. The government takes it's marching orders from us, it's time they be reminded.

THERE IS NO WALL. When will the simple meaning of the 1st Amendment be set aright.

When the students start exercising their first amendment rights. They can make all the rules they want. The students don't have to follow them.

The problem is that the students probably don't know or realize that. People only know what they are taught. If they are not taught that they can carry bibles and pray if they want, they won't.

There is likely a good reason He won't let us do that.

Your probably right. I suppose I will have to settle by convincing a bunch of high school students to carry bibles just to buck the status quo!

I don't believe that. There is a kid out there that will rebel. These are teenagers right?

As they say, what goes around comes around. When the adults were conservative, the kids became liberal. Its now the other way around.

How would you like to be a teen today and have to rebel against a society that says its ok to do whatever you want, there are no real reprecussions and nothing is ever, ever your fault?

Forget about wanting to rebel against that. Is it possible that you could you rebel? Ask for more rules and structure? Ask for more morals? Ask for more guidance?
