There is an unusual feature to the second Bush Administration that is extraordinarily important but has been almost entirely overlooked. For the first time in a half-century, a two-term presidency will end without sending out its Vice President to seek a mandate for succession at the next election. Vice President Cheney will not run for the presidency, and everyone knows it. When these eight years are over, the Bush-Cheney Administration will simply close up shop.

It's worth it to watch our man Charles go into action while eating a politically INCORRECT snack like the really, bad, heartstoppin'(the kind the opposition in the world like to tell us we shouldn't eat or if they had their way they'd probably take it off the market( buttery kind of popcorn!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
Bush is on the move.
He sees time is of the essence.
Sorry, I couldn't find the "New Sex Photos of Paris Hilton and Mystery Woman Surface" article to post.
;-)
That sounds interesting. Can you tell me more about the discussion?
I like that. CIA = Central Insurgency Agency
Hmmmm ... how about Bush in 2008. Not Jeb Bush but George W. Bush ... yes, I'm talking about Bush challenging the no-third-term Amendment. I'm tired of hearing the media fawn all over Clinton -- how wonderful he is, how great his presidency. He didn't challenge the amendment because he knew that his popularity with the people wasn't deep enough. But ... might Bush be able to un-do that bit of travesty?
You heard it here first.
Hillary will not be the DemocRAT candidate in 2008. The DemoRATs will not run a liberal northeast senator again for decades, if ever.
I think that what "The Hammer" was trying to say is that when W's term ends, it will be the end of his agenda. Sure, someone else may came along in '08 and succeed him and "take up the mantle", but it won't be "pure Bush" as it is now because...it won't BE George Bush. There is no lament here that The Cause won't continue beyond '08, because TheHammer knows (as well as all Freepers) that the current poitical climate is trending toward the values of Conservatism. A well-run campaign (Rudy, McCain, Rice, Sanford,et al) by a GOP'er would further the cause of Conservatism, but it just wouldn't be "pure Bush". (please forgive the term, I have no other suitable adjective)
Perhaps what The Hammer is getting at is that Bush is attempting to return our Republic to Reagan's Federalist initiatives. These things were put into action by Reagan by Executive Order, only to be rescinded by Clinton.(curiously just before he signed that massive tax bill...hmmm)
A serious embrace of Modern Federalism is perhaps what Bush has in mind with his "ownership society" policies. If he is really serious about it, he doesn't have to be a "lame duck" at all. He has the authority to hold Congress in session up until Inauguration Day 2009 if that's what it takes to finish his agenda. Wouldn't THAT get the Dem's attention.
(sorry for prattling on, but this issue just hit me the right way......love ya' all!!!)
Hillary! won't be so hard to beat. For one thing, I have to think there are a number of otherwise non-voters who would come out of the woodwork and crawl over broken glass to vote against her. America is not New York.
I think so , too.
George W. Bush will go down in history as one of the great Presidents!
He had vision. He had courage. He is a man of action.
All three of these are SO RARE!!!
>Hilary Rodham Clinton will be inaugurated in 2009<
WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP - LIFEBOY SOAP!!!!
I love Cheney dearly as VP; but I think the best thing for the Republic would be for him to resign in 2 years, and be replaced by a good, conservative candidate. Not Rice (assuming her abortion position has been rightly interpreted) or Giuliani or Powell or McCain, but....
Well, that's the hard part, isn't it? It's easy enough for me, as a Christian conservative, to make a NOT-wish-list. But who's a viable, real-live conservative? No name leaps to mind.

This married white woman is waiting with bated breath to see if Condi does, in fact, run!
Comdi in '08!!
Hillary is more divisive and more controversial than Kerry ever thought of being.
She will not be elected no matter how much MSM wants her in office.
I pray for his safety AND his success every day!
It is frightening....given how unhinged many on the Left are these days.....pray hard.....
I love to watch him dissect the liberal mental midgets on Special Report.
Who said she would be Secretary of State when she runs? She will be VP when she runs for president.
My prediction is that Cheney will resign in 2006. Bush will appoint Rice as VP and Rice will run as VP with Jeb Bush as her running mate. If all goes right Jeb will run in 2016. Jenna or Barbara will run in 2024.
