And really, people, stop using the "thug" codeword. Just come out and say it. It's clear what you mean...

What codeword? We refer to these players as thugs because they ARE thugs. Now, why don't you tell us what YOU mean. Just come out and say it.

Where does the DA draw the line. Is every hockey fight going to be charged? That's what worries me.

Being a fan of both hockey and basketball, I think that violence between players should be handled by the leagues, unless some gross example of violence occurs. If violence at a game involves a fan, it should be handled the same way as any other crime. JMO. I don't even play a lawyer on tv!

I already mentioned this in another post on this subject, but the fans and the Detroit Pistons are responsible for this whole mess. Wallace needs to be suspended for longer and the Pacers suspensions need to be reduced, although Artest does need a lesson in humility.

He's an NBA thug who should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

How much is Artest getting a year? $4mil? 6? For half that, I'll let people scream at me. I'll even let 'em throw plastic cups of overpriced, lukewarm beer at me.

Well, as a resident of Indiana, I hate what this will do to the Pacers season. This will probably cost them a shot at a championship. On the other hand, I was praying that the Pacers would trade Artest this summer, before something like this happened. That guy is a huge problem, and has the Pacers have not been able to count on him from day one. If Larry Bird had only listened to me in June.

I feel as though Wallace got too much of a suspension. It would have been one game had Artest not gone into the crowd. Also, Jermaine O'Neal got too much of a suspension. The guy he whacked was on the floor. The others are about right.

I think you are close, but there's more.

These players are really big, really strong and in great condition. My 12 year old could probably handle the average beer guzzling Polish-American from Hamtramck with a 45 inch waistline and that dude would be like a punching bag for a 6'6", 230 lb pile of muscle.

These guys get paid big, they should act big. Turn your back on that beer filled pile of humanity and "play ball".

As far as I'm concerned the NBA could dry up and blow away tomorrow and I would shed no tears.

( this has been edited to remove the harsh words, he, he, he).

As I pointed out, that guy in the blue Wallace shirt was pretty much in the fray from the beginning to the end.....

That was the guy who started it all. Channel 4 in Detroit had a view of that guy flipping the plastic cup that hit Artest. Then he gets out of the way and lets Artest nail the guy in the black shirt, and then while others are holding Artest down he starts hitting him. That guy should be artested... sorry I meant arrested

Well, it looks like the Pacers' season is pretty much done. The Pistons will have its players back by mid-December, and it looks like the only competition for the Pistons winning the Eastern Conference again will be the Miami Heat.

If the players think they have it bad with the suspensions and all..... wait until the John Edwards type lawyers get a hold of the fans that were hit, hurt, upset or simply witnesses and thereby traumatized by the whole thing.....
