Has Fish Had Its Chips? (PETA says that codfish have feelings too)

Fish and chip shops across the nation have rallied against calls by barmy animal rights activists to ban one of Britain's favourite dishes.

Vegetarian group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has traditionally campaigned against people wearing fur coats or the killing of farmyard animals.

Now it wants fish suppers taken off the menu because it says the tasty underwater creatures are "intelligent" and feel pain when caught.

PETA's Dawn Carr said: "We are not pulling any punches on this one.

"We don't think people should eat fish at all — and if that means they do not eat fish and chips then so be it.

She added: "People should go on a fishing boat and see the amount of suffering a fish goes through when it is caught.

"It's horrific — their eyes pop out and their stomachs burst because of the pressure."

What do you suppose the percentage of PETA members that are against abortion is?

I don't know, but I would estimate it is less than 1%.

The female codfish is an odd fish.

From her too, come codfish balls.

So what are we supposed to eat?

PETA members, along with some Fava beans, and a nice Kianti!

RE: "Codfish have feelings, too."

It's a 'food-chain' thing, of course. Eco-nuts have always regarded homo sapiens a 'non-native species' to be ERADICATED, NOT protected, so it should come as no surprise to *ANYONE* that they would advocate fish eating *US*, but *NEVER* the other way around.

Once we started 'protecting' those 'Great Whites' (...rather than stepping up our consumption of 'shark fin soup'), you had to KNOW more BAD stuff was BOUND to happen...

The 'inmates' have taken over the asylum... Nothing should surprise us any more.
(...and don't even START with me about those 'spine-flowers', 'sucker-fish' and 'fairy-shrimp'!!!)
