Lieberman sold his soul during the campaign for 2000, when he zigged hard to the left, defending and adopting algore's stances on all liberal issues. He is at heart a semi-conservative democRAT, but he showed that he has a weak core, when he gave it all away to become veep. It showed he craves power more than he respects scruples.

You mean the guy who helped Al Gore try to steal the 2000 election? I want to see him in jail, not in the cabinet.

It might be worth doing this -- if for no other reason that to rub dirt in Al Gore's face. Sorry Al, you're all washed up ...

Only if we have a senate candidate that can easily pick up that CT. seat.

Perhaps Bush could ask Hillary and Schumer to work on something important like helping to predict sand storms and Pataki could appoint 2 GOP senators. (I can dream)

I think Lieberman for Homeland Security Secretary is a good idea.

(And it doesn't hurt that there's a Republican governor in CT who would appoint a replacement, right?)

I respected Lieberman until he ratched up his rhetoric during the Democratic primary. He said some real hateful things about the Pres for political points...

The Dems are down 55-45 in Senate and would like to remove a liability in their ranks:)

Not saying much, but Lieberman's certainly got more sense than Norm Mineta. Hope we get a new SoT this term...

Again, I will never forget that Lieberman went along with throwing out the military ballots in 2000. NEVER.

I'm no Lieberman fan. He really torqued me with his passionate speech against Clinton and then voting no for conviction. He followed that up with some truly hateful speeches in the 2000 election, especially when Florida was being contested.

Yes, he's strong on national security, but there's no need to invite another Democrat into the Cabinet. One is enough, if not too much. Fire Mineta, and then talk to me.

One democrat is enough; first get rid of Mineta.

He is what the Dems have in short supply -- a true patriot. As this should be the only "litmus test", I'd welcome him with open arms.
