Seems Hannity has millons of listeners that likes his current format. You don't change a winning game.
I agree with you, I find him to be a grade C talent.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
Somebody thinks conservative pundits are running out of material? Im confused.
No sooner did we win a mandate, than we had a prominent Republican senator put his foot in his mouth...causing an uproar in conservative circles.
In addition, the dems are going to contunue to wage political and cultural war against pubs and America in general.
We have a major debate looming within the repub party concerning immigration.
This is just starting to get interesting.
Conservative radio beats up liberals based on their positions and actions. This isn't some pointless bully just beating people up for fun.
Boy Scouts were banned from military bases. Still a lot to fight.
Hannity is like listening to a political, Radio Disney.
Hannity is now campaigning against Hillary
Thankyou for the link, agitator.
I thought he was... /sarcasm
I hate to admit it,too..Scarborough did come around lately from his bed of pain ..I had stopped watching him altogether..then switched on again as I watched everyone on election night, reruns and post election..
I haven't noticed the dems or the libs going away ..or the bias of the MSM..Plenty of material for our side to blast!
"If they keep beating up liberals, it will ring hollow over time. "
Yeah, because the liberals aren't actively screwing America at every turn or anything. /sarcasm
You can always bash the liberals as long as they run most of the media. That doesn't get old. The MSM needs to be held to account.
This overlooks one very basic fact and that is that there will always be enough liberals and RINOs to keep conservative talk going.
They said Limbaugh would have nothing to talk about once GHW Bush left office.
They said Limbaugh would have nothing to talk about once Clinton left office.
They'll say the same thing when GW Bush leaves office.
There will always be offensive liberals around to more than fill a three-hour talk show and they get even crazier whenever they are out of power.
Any conservative host who's show dies off it will be because the host ran out of ideas, not that conservatives had run out of talking points. If you are a real thinking conservative, that is, and not a me-too boilerplate ex-DJ who just happened to "turn" conservative as a ratings ploy.
True, people define others often using themselves as the measuring stick OMG...LOL
But if conservatives want to move the voters along to voting more and more like true conservatives, you have to take these "steps" toward the goal. There will never be this instant conservative wakening overnight.
We are an impatient people that want things yesterday, but converting people takes time, determination, patience and consistent clear messages and policy.
It's tough to push responsibility, self reliance and a limited social system when we are up against a party that hands the treasury out for the vote.
I think the reason Bush and other have done that with prescription drugs and some other things are that if they didn't at this time, then when Democrats did it, they could have won big.
Over time as the budget can't afford give-aways, America will be forced to grow up and be responsible IMO.
GeronL brings up a point...the ACLU attacks on the Boy Scouts. Phyllis Schafley has the solution..and it's simple:
ACTION ALERT...WE CAN PUT A STOP TO THE ACLU'S CONSTANT ATTACKS! Read this exerpt from the Phylis Schafley interview. Read the whole interview at: http://illinoisleader.com/news/newsview.asp?c=20902
"There is a court law passed during Watergate era that allows them to collect attorneys fees for these cases for these Ten Commandment and pledge cases, and because theyre claiming they have a civil right not to see the Ten Commandments, a civil right not to hear the word God in the pledge of allegiance.
They have a collected a huge amount. It is a neat fundraiser for the ACLU. Theres no excuse for Congress to not repeal this and make it impossible."
We need to get this law repealed! Let's hear the pundits talk about THIS for a change. If people knew they could silence the ACLU with a bit of activism, they'd be phoning as we speak.
Please pundits. Get a clue. All politics all the time is boring.
Conservative talk, by far the most popular kind on the airwaves, has always traded on an undercurrent of grievance, a sense of being the underdog against the implacable, oppressive forces of liberal "elitism."
They STILL don't get it!
Wow.
I love how the Liberals can delude themselves into believing that experiencing loss is a positive for them, and disadvantage for us! Really, amazing feat on their part.
I also love how they, and those that live to bash talk radio in this thread, think conservative radio is about pimping for the Right and demonizing the Left.
Does anyone think this battle is over? Uh, no. Elections mean nothing without policy victories. We have incoming judicial battles, tax reform, social security reform, tort reform, confronting the Educational system, in process of reforming the CIA and soon State, military is being upgraded, stabilization of Iraq and Afganistan and confrontation of Iran, North Korea, Syria and Cuba to name a few. The priorities for the future are endless and will need more than four years and a couple of elections to address.
In the midst of trying to make substantial improvements we'll have to continue to organise to confront the Dems latest strategies and combat Libs in the '06 and '08 elections. The MSM is only wounded, not defeated. The Liberals across the globe will continue to attempt to organize with our leftists to bring down our government. The detrators in our own party will attempt to slow our agenda as they side with the Dems. We need to continue to recruit people to the Republican Party, and reach those still under the illusion the Dem Party represents their interests.
We are officially the majority in government, but we remain the underdogs until the structures that enable Liberalism to survive are disbanded.
As to Scarborough, he's a sell out. He'll have an interesting show now and then, but he holds no claims to being a conservative any longer.
Hannity distinguished himself, imo, with his defense of the Swiftees. Those so quick to denounce conveniently forget he challenged Reps over the Swiftees and how CFR impacted them. One of those Reps he challenged was McCain. Even his own network waited a weekend before reluntantly jumping onboard, Hannity jumped in immediately. This was not the act of a GOP shill. He's not my favorite host but he is a loyal conservative that has earned some respect as far as I'm concerned.
Their critisism of Rush is laughable. Rush was a success before Clinton, after Clinton, and will be so after Bush even if we had a 70 seat majority in Congress, 2/3rd's in House, another Republican in the W.H. and 7-1 conservative Court.
The agneda is the advancement of conservatism to profit America in practical terms. Should we reach that goal, the agenda will shift to constant improvement of the status quo and continued education to prevent return to leftist policy.
