Hi all. My co-worker, Melissa, has a son is going over to serve in Iraq next week. She is getting stressed out as the time grows closer. Please pray for her and her son that he will come back from his tour of duty safely.
Thank you!

There is a military prayer thread embedded in a daily thread known as" A day in the Life of George Bush". A FReeper name Kayak is the one that manages that part of the thread. You can Frmail her with the info and she will post the info with updates as they happen.

I pray for nothing but the complete and total destruction of the Islamo thugs in Iraq and elsewhere. If those prayers are answered he will come home very soon.

It is so hard for those back home. The son of a woman at work is in Iraq, she worries 24/7. I never know whether to ask about him and restir the worry or just stay silent. Prayers for this family.

May the Lord give Melissa peace and courage and may He watch over her son!
I will be glad to add this soldier to the military prayer list on the Dose (as "The Day in the Life ... " thread is called). When possible I like to include first names on the list because many people like to call someone's name when praying. Do you mind sharing his first name (I don't and won't use full names on the list).

Heavenly Father, we return with thankful hearts that there is none like unto You, for in Your hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Job 12:10. May it be, Merciful Father, that Melissa and her son would be blessed with a tour of duty that brings him back safely. Surround this family with Your love and assurance, O God, for great is the sacrifice of those who serve, and those who wait. Give victory to each mission and honor to each defender and blessings upon each household. In the Name of Jesus, Amen ...

Psalm 91
"A Soldier's Prayer"
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked
If you make the Most High your dwelling - even the Lord, who is my refuge then
no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
you will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
"Because he loves me," says the Lord, "I will rescue him; I will protect him,
for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
God Bless All of Our Military
