Please help me on this fundraiser

I have been accused of something that I didn't do And I am being sued for it! On December 2, 2000, I held a rally in New Haven in front of then Vice Presidential candidate Joe Lieberman's house, doing what little I could to show support for the newly elected President Bush, and to show my frustration at the Democrats in their attempts to overturn the genuinely won election by George W. Bush. At the end of the rally, Former Ct State Senator Tom Scott was speaking on the back of my truck, when all of a sudden the lead Democrat supporter of the counter rally held at the same location, started to approach my truck, then turned and took 3 or 4 running steps and jumped on the bed of my truck in a manner that I thought he was going to attack someone on the truck: either me or Tom. I stepped to his side and held out my arm to stop him as he ran into my arm and immediately stopped his forward motion. I kept my hand held out in front of him to prevent him from going forward on the truck bed and get closer to Tom who was speaking at the time. After 3 seconds or so, the man who jumped on my truck immediately turned and jumped down off the truck into the arms of the Police who quickly escorted him away from my truck. The whole incident lasted no more than 5 seconds it seems. Tom and I decided to not press charges for assault or trespass on my truck, and let him go. 9 months later, the man filed suit against me for assault. I am not joking. 9 months later. He claims I grabbed his throat. Look at the picture. This picture was taken December 2, 2000. That is the man who claims I was grabbing his throat. My hand is on his chest, not his throat. My hand was NEVER on his throat, nor was it ever near his throat!

Why I made this website Because of the lawsuit, I am forced to endure thousands of dollars of debt that I cannot afford. I have been employed only in temporary positions since 2001 when telecom collapsed, and am deep in debt. This man is trying to use the legal system to get tens of thousands of dollars from me that does not belong to him, and he is doing it by claiming I assaulted him, which I did not do at all.

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP?? I am forced to ask, but can you consider donating to help me pay my legal fees? Because of this false charge against me, I am now over $8000 in debt to my lawyer, and we cannot continue until I can pay my bill! Could you please send me $5 or $10 or $20 to help my legal fees? My husband "zelig" and I were with RaceBannon in front of Joe Lieberman's house in New Haven, CT on December 2, 2000 for this rally, and we witnessed Boise Kimber LEAP up on Race's truck -- taking Race, Tom Scott and everyone facing the truck listening to Tom Scott speak -- by complete surprise. It definitely appeared to my husband and me that Kimber was going to attack Race and/or Tom. Race held out his arm to stop him, as it appears in the photo in post #1, but Race did NOT "grab" him in any way. Kimber stood there with a big smile on his face with Race and Tom for just a few seconds - maybe a minute - then suddenly jumped off the truck bed. It was really odd...

Race has been a tireless FReeper who has been in the trenches for us as long as we've known him (November 2000), and well before that, I'm sure. Over the years, Race has traveled to countless rallies all over the northeast and Washington DC, standing in the cold and heat (mostly COLD though!), and his booming voice has been a huge asset to Our Cause.

I haven't read all the replies to this thread, so someone may have already made this suggestion: Do a Google search for conservative legal foundations and see if you can find a conservative organization that will give you some legal support with this case. This looks like a case of political harassment through the courts, so you may be able to find an organization that will help you with your legal costs and possibly provide legal assistance. There are a lot of foundations out there and if you contact enough of them you should be able to get some help.

RaceBannon is a big former Marine, but I'm sure that he is telling the truth about his actions.

In Oct 2002, RaceBannon did everything possible to avoid conflict when he and I were guarding FReeper-rented portable toilets for a DC Chapter Support the Troops Rally opposite a nearby Hate-America Rally of ANSWER anti-war scum. The leftists kept coming to use our toilets because their organizers never rent enough. We had to turn them away, lest they trash the toilets (as the leftists had done at an earlier event) or overload the use capacity of the units.
