Next scheduled report(s): Kittitas (750) overdue; Whitman (600) @3pm; Well here's an interesting surprise. King County, which claimed earlier to have 11,000 uncounted ballots, today reported 15,000 votes and claims there's another 4,000 ballots remaining. This narrows Rossi's projected lead, but doesn't predict a Gregoire victory. Of course, our model doesn't take into account the surprise discovery of thousands of previously non-existent ballots.

POSTED THIS TWICE BECAUSE ITS BOTH LAUGHABLE AND SCARY

My understanding is that the Libertarian is a lesbian gay activist. If that is true, I think that the votes she drew would probably have gone Gregoire.

Libertarian 62439 Gregroire should send them a thank you card.

I am a small-l libertarian, and I don't think much of the Libertarian Party, but in this (Wash. governor) election, I think the Libertarian candidate ran on a gay-rights platform that probably drew more D votes than Rs.

She didn't campaign as a lesbian gay activist, but as an alternative to the GOP. The LP concentrated their advertising on conservative markets, which was in keeping with their national effort to play spoiler as well.

Don't forget to mention the 54,000 votes for the libertarian candidate that will likely get a Dem elected...

They would use it to roll a dube.

King County will make absolutely sure that they have the LAST 10,000 ballots to count, whatever it takes to ensure that Gregoire wins.

Somehow I missed the explanation for why these results take weeks instead of hours. Were the ballots put through a paper shredder?

No, they can't. They had 4000 left, last word I heard. They dumped a bunch today, and that's why Gregoire went up. They're about done.

My dear, I pray that you are correct. Rossi winning is as important for Washington as Bush winning is for America.

In this state it would be called pulling a Maria Cantwell...they've done it before.

I think that all votes must be "verified" by Wednesday.
After Wed it WILL be courts, suing, fist fight, suicide and so on. This will last for weeks. Then Rossi wins (I predict)

I'm sure about King County being down to 4000 votes (if it's not currently 4000, it's less, not more); keep your fingers crossed for us!

Anything under 2000 votes is an automatic recount

Gregoire is up right now. A little over a week ago I created an excel spreadsheet that applied the same % of votes to the uncounted votes that each candidate already received for each county in Washington state. I have been tracking the % on a county by county basis. It has held (including King County) for a week.

The Prediction : ROSSI WINS BY 3566 or more votes. Don't throw in the towel just yet. The uncounted in the rural counties are small numbers but they all add to the total and Rossi has a landslide in the rural counties.
