I would withhold judgment until we find out the immediacy of the event and action, and all the facts.
I completely agree. I'm not going to jump on either bandwagon- the one that says our military can do no wrong- nor the one that says they are always wrong.
There ARE rules of warfare- our soldiers and marines are highly trained in following them.

Set aside the argument re: whether the 'insurgents' are lawful combatants entitled to Geneva's protection. When your side engages in 'perfidious conduct' ie fake surrenders, misusing protected symbols, faking protected status etc; your side loses the protection inherent in those symbols/status. If the enemy has faked death/wounds and used that advantage to attack, this Marine is not going to be prosecuted. Especially if they had been briefed about these types of occurences.

He (the Marine) might have been unwound by an earlier booby trap. The ,ass media will tear him to shreds and the rest of the military with him. They never did care about our military, adn only paid John Kerry, Vietnam War Hero ® homage because they were ordered to. Hell, John Kerry has never thought twice about victimizing our soldiers either
