US MARINES in Fallujah are destroying a vast network of tunnels and underground bunkers used by rebels.
Warplanes have dropped four 2000lb bombs on the tunnels in a bid to kill remaining insurgents.
The blasts set off 45 minutes of explosions as underground munitions dumps were ignited.
Soldiers yesterday discovered a warren of bunkers linked by tunnels. The network had even been stocked with medical supplies.
US and Iraqi troops have secured Fallujah after six days of street battles, but fighting continued last night as soldiers tried to mop up pockets of resistance.

The blasts set off 45 minutes of explosions as underground munitions dumps were ignited. Just wait until they start hitting the arms depots of the mosques...

Why waste the ammo? Simply pour 50 gallons of bacon grease down the hole.

You just knew that they'd taken a thing or two out of the viet cong playbook when it was reported that the insurgents were popping back up in the north of the city after it had already been swept by the marines.
I have a neighbor kid on the ground in Fallujah. So far no news is good news.

When I say that "It blowed up real good" people correct my grammar. I guess they missed the show. It was so funny. God bless John Candy! Loved that guy.

...pour 50 gallons (or tons) of bacon grease...mixed with gasoline and naphthalene...down the hole, followed by a grenade to ignite; and run like hell!

The only thing that bothers me about this is that we may never know how many terrorists were in the tunnels and were killed. I want to know the score.

God I love secondary explosions!
We can only hope some insurgents were guarding the weapons stores at the time.

Soldiers yesterday discovered a warren of bunkers linked by tunnels. It makes it pretty clear that:
1) Diplomacy will never work with these bastards.
2) Anyone who categorically states that there are no WMD in Iraq is a fool. The place is a rathole filled with ratholes.
