I need some help.
About a year ago or so I remember a poll conducted in Iran where it showed that most Iranians actually admire the US or the West or something like that. I need a link to that poll if possible.
Also, a friend of mine was incredulous when I stated that most in Iran actually admire the US and it was the hard line mullahs who ran the show. I said that the actual parliamentary part of their government was progressive but the hard-liners were repressive. He said that he saw recently where the parliament over there was chanting "death to US" or something like that.
Can anyone help me out with a link or two, and also set me straight on what the real deal is over there right now?

I saw this late.
I am an activist like many others on FR.
But I decided to focus my efforts on Iran since they can quickly shift from being a part of the axis of evil to one of our biggest allies.
I have been following Middle Eastern developments for the past 10 years and could see many on FR did not understand the events in Iran.
I predict this "shift" will take place sooner than most expect and will a major turning point in our war on terror.
