1,000 dead as troops take Fallujah

Iraq's national security adviser Qassem Dawoud said the massive military operation to retake Fallujah "is accomplished" with about 1,000 insurgents killed and 200 captured.

"The Al-Fajr operation in Iraq is accomplished," he said.

"What is left is evil pockets which we are dealing with now.

"The number of terrorists and Saddam loyalists killed has reached more than 1,000. As for the detainees, the number is 200 people."

However Dawoud said that Jordanian terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and Fallujah insurgent leader Abdullah al-Janabi "have escaped".

He also said about 90% of Fallujah's residents had left the city before the Monday start of the mass ground assault.

The next act of the "Sheep of Iraq" will be the people of Fallujah welcoming in more terrorists, and then complaining that the US didn't clean up the city.

1000 here and how many before including MOST of the deck of cards.

It really blows my mind when you think that the IRA did all the crap they did for so many years with about 200 terrorists

In other news...

"WANA, Pakistan Nov 13, 2004 — Pakistan's army has demolished several terrorist hideouts and killed 30 to 40 militants but failed to capture a former Guantanamo Bay prisoner accused of targeting security forces in a tense tribal region, officials said Saturday."

And that's why 200 captured is 200 too many.

We need to give this group to the Iraqis - some Kurd guards ought to be appropriate.

I do recall reading that Fallujah doesn't have the best reputation in Iraq, a haven for smugglers, thieves...etc.

They AREN'T insurgents, they're terrorists. The MSM wants to call them a nicer name when they are nothing but cold blooded, murdering, low life scum.

1,000 dead - is a good start

(1,000 * 72 = 72,000 virgins needed)

Due to current Virgin shortage.... there will be positions available for "Lesser Qualified candidates"

Women who have had sex less than 3-4 times in the last year
or more than 2-3 Husbands in a lifetime ,or all at once

...........May apply.

Inquire with Mr Zarqawi.

P.S. If the present conditions continue, we will also open it up to certain types of Men also.

maybe not... remember Najaf? it is very peaceful now.. the citizenry horrified (because of the actions of the terrorists who had taken over their town) upon returning and determined.. and they pitched in and reclaimed their city. they have helped to rebuild and repair.. and are now getting ready for elections.

i believe there's hope for Fallujah too..

Notice the article does not even say 1,000 of WHO???

Just "1,000 killed".

I'd even take "1,000 insurgents" as rotten as that is.

I'd much prefer our AMERICAN newspapers and wire services write like they did in the days when they supported the US troops overseas, with something like "1,000 Enemy Killed in Fallujah".

But I'll never see that day.

Wait a second. There is a virgin shortage. They DONT need that many virgins up there.

Haven't you heard of 'multi-tasking'?
