Cigar man lost an eye and much of his hearing on his second deployment over there. He made a couple of speeches here (near Twentynine Palms) while recuperating....he's probably medically discharged now.

My memory is a little fuzzy about the details, but wasn't "Cigar Man" (as he was called) either wounded or KIA? For some reason, I have it in my head that he was killed in action.
