His mama is only 39; she must have had him at an early age.

She's 39; he's 20. That would make her a mother at 19. Not so unusual.

Yeah, they're dying by the hundreds of second hand smoke.

Nope, they are dying from lead poisoning!

I wouldn't mind a bit if he showed up on my doorstep to see my daughter. In a couple of years, of course. :-)

We should bring this boy home right now and have him go on a military publicity tour.

You'd have to drag him kicking and screaming away from his fellow Marines.

True, but he could fight DNC terrorists back here and have a lot more fun. He just wouldn't be allowed to use a gun;-)

Yeah, those Hollywood phony heroes will be fighting each other on Sunset Blvd. to star in the movie about the life of this young Marine! (May they use lethal force with a high body count of Hollywood flakes?) But, no matter how hard they try, they'll never measure up to this Real Deal Marine.

Hollywood makes movies, Marines make history!

The guy is in Fallujah putting his life on the line every single minute. Each smoke could be his last. If that is how he handles the stress more power to him.

I, for one, would be glad to send cigarettes over there. It is the least I can do.

As for the teens---I do not need a village to raise my children. I do not need a village to shape my child's behavior by controlling the behavior and habits of others.

I would tell my sons smoking will kill you, but so will a bullet. He is a grown man and knows the risks. It is his life, his deccision and the consequences are his alone.

Not a flame. Just my personal opinion.

I'll bet this young man isn't pushing for a Purple Heart for the nick on his nose. . .heck, I am sure this honorable man wouldn't dream of putting himself in for an award of any kind. . .unlike sKerry, who, I am sure, if he had a nick like that would be screaming for a Purple Heart. . .oh, wait. . .

Good and great young guy. True American.

Or a young Robert Mitchum...

That's who came to mind for me. I have watched the movie, "We Were Soldiers" recently and, coupled with the reports out of Iraq, what strikes me most about our guys over there (no slight to the gals over there, so please...), what strikes me most is how cool, efficient, capable...and YOUNG these soldiers are. At 21, Cpl. Miller has already proven himself to be the kind of person our nation should be proud of...a man, a soldier, a patriot, an American.

God Bless our troops, and may He make short work of their efforts over there and bring them back to their loved ones soon.

This 50 year old woman thinks he is a hottie.! But every GI I see in combat gear is a hottie! Must be that manly, rugged look!

*teary eyed sniffle* He's from my home state...

As for the cigs, if that's the way he deals with stress, let him. I don't like it when my husband smokes but he usually does only when he's under extreme stress (Like after he slept through Hurricane Ivan in an elementary school 20 min north of NAS Pensacola)

My gut tells me he wouldn't need the gun...just the thought of a military man, puffing a smoke would cause most libs to keel over...
