What understanding do you have of the salvation of your soul? The work of salvation means that in your real life things are dramatically changed. You no longer look at things in the same way. Your desires are new and the old things have lost their power to attract you. One of the tests for determining if the work of salvation in your life is genuine is - has God changed the things that really matter to you? If you still yearn for the old things, it is absurd to talk about being born from above - you are deceiving yourself. If you are born again, the Spirit of God makes the change very evident in your real life and thought. And when a crisis comes, you are the most amazed person on earth at the wonderful difference there is in you. There is no possibility of imagining that you did it. It is this complete and amazing change that is the very evidence that you are saved.
What difference has my salvation and sanctification made? For instance, can I stand in the light of 1 Corinthians 13, or do I squirm and evade the issue? True salvation, worked out in me by the Holy Spirit, frees me completely. And as long as I "walk in the light as He is in the light" (1 John 1:7), God sees nothing to rebuke because His life is working itself into every detailed part of my being, not on the conscious level, but even deeper than my consciousness.

Lord God, We come before you to thank you that we who believe in your Beloved Son are also clothed in His righteousness before you. Without Jesus, we are utterly lost, utterly sinful, utterly depraved. Thank you Lord, that you have saved us, and thank you so much that one of your great gifts is to have the mind of Your Son as well, to be able to discern what is right, and to walk in Your way. I pray we can begin, as your children, to be the true Light and Salt in America, and that we can expose the evils of our modern culture and the destructive path we are on, and that we can lead people to You, to salvation in the Name of Jesus Christ, before it is too late, before our country falls as every other civilization has without you.
Lord, please protect your true church here in America and keep her pure. As well we ask that You would purge evil out of our government at all levels and stations.
Lord continue to keep and bless our dear President. Please also give our troops the victory in Iraq, with the ultimate result that the Iraqi people will hear and believe the gospel.

As You have revealed truth to many in our electorate, so we pray that it would continue and abound. We ask, Father, for the revelation of Your will and Your ways to overtake those who seek You. We ask that evil would be exposed and brought to the light of Your precious Word. We pray that our physical enemies in Fallujah would be exposed for our troops. We ask You for the specific location of all our enemies to be made known to our military. We ask for the President's Secret Service to see trouble before it comes. Lord, guide us by Your Holy Spirit to be successful at what we are setting our hand to that Your truth, Your wisdom, Your fullness might be seen--all for Your glory. In Jesus' name.
