I wish your countrymen could really see them together. You can see that they are complete equals and enjoy visiting one another. I think a lot of your anti-war citizens in Britain just have a hard time with Blair supporting us in the war on terrorism. They wouldn't feel llke that if Westminster or the houses of Parliment had been hit by a plane!
I agree with you unfortunately the majority of the Briish public get their news from the soundbites of evening news headlines. Current affairs are not high on the agenda of the average Brit.
