Source: Peterson jury foreman wanted to be taken off panel

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (Court TV) — The foreman dismissed from the jury deliberating murder charges against Scott Peterson Wednesday asked to be removed from the panel, a source close to the case told Court TV anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom.

"This juror wanted off the case," Guilfoyle Newsom reported Thursday.

The panelist, identified as Gregory Jackson, 46, quit the jury after his fellow jurors said they wanted another panelist to lead them, the source told Guilfoyle Newsom.

"He was removed as the foreperson and then decided he wanted off the case," Guilfoyle Newsom said.

Story continues ......

The courthouse was closed Thursday because of the Veteran's Day holiday and jurors remained in sequestration at their hotel. The panel is not permitted to discuss the case except in the jury room........

This is OT, but while I am online with you all today and knowing the power of prayer we can muster on these Jon Benet,Danielle, Laci, and other true crimes forums I'd like to ask you all for prayers of safe keeping for my 18 year old great niece who landed in Baghdad 3 weeks ago.

Her name is Jessica and she went into the army right out of high school. She actually got a sharp shooter medal while in training. She might need it as she is a convoy driver just like the girl's and guys who got ambushed, killed and kidnapped earlier in the war.

She was very anxious to go and serve her country, her mother is my closest niece and I can't imagine how she is coping, but she is very proud of Jess, as am I. Except I am very worried about her.

I wish we could surround her and all the rest of the servicemen and women with a cloak of prayer protection. That's a prayer thread we could use, spectre. :-)

Here's Jessica's picture the day she shipped out for Iraq:

Best wishes and prayers for Jessica and all our men and women in the military.

I happened to watch a few minutes of Larry King. Boy, was that grayhaired man who also looks uptight outraged about Scott being guilty. And Henry Lee chirped in with no evidence. I noticed that Henry Lee seems to support husbands or ex-husbands accused of killing their wives such as OJ (where he presented outrageous testimony).

Boy after I got home in time for LKL I never saw Jackie Peterson walk so fast as she did today. Big mouth Janey was absolutely dead pan!! I cannot believe that Peterson's father and Lawyer didn't show up. My husband said WHAT??? If ever there was a time for him to show his face it was TODAY. He got paid to show his face REGARDLESS!!

Henry Lee ... lost much of his credibility with his ketchup demo during the Michael Peterson case, IMHO.

I'm getting a funny feeling about Justin, I'm thinking he may still throw a curve ball at this case. I'm thinking some charge that he had contact with someone one the jury, that he was just covering in his public statements, etc, that they had an agreement to do this and write a book yada, yada, yada.

I'm not kidding. Justin's not smart enough to pull something like this off, however a sleazy you know who (what's his name from early in the case with MG?) would do this.

I posted on the other long thread, but Greta played an interview from dismissed Juror #7 who said she was going to vote guilty, but that's all she can say because of the GAG order.

I figured there was a prayer list somewhere here on FR for the girls and guys over there and someone here on this thread would know. Can I just post her info there? OR what? How do they do that?

Lost as usual, I think I've lost about 3/4 of my brain cells this past year. ;-/

Remember, the Peterson's borrowed more money off the house thinking they will win. NOT!!!

runningbear, you probably know better than I since you still live there, but since Calif. is a community property state and Laci and Scott acquired the house after their marriage I think Scott (even though) he killed Laci half of the property is still his. Therefore his parents probably borrowed on his half.

Now the life insurance is a different story. Since he killed her he will not collect off that.
