Source: Peterson jury foreman wanted to be taken off panel

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (Court TV) — The foreman dismissed from the jury deliberating murder charges against Scott Peterson Wednesday asked to be removed from the panel, a source close to the case told Court TV anchor Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom.

"This juror wanted off the case," Guilfoyle Newsom reported Thursday.

The panelist, identified as Gregory Jackson, 46, quit the jury after his fellow jurors said they wanted another panelist to lead them, the source told Guilfoyle Newsom.

"He was removed as the foreperson and then decided he wanted off the case," Guilfoyle Newsom said.

Story continues ......

The courthouse was closed Thursday because of the Veteran's Day holiday and jurors remained in sequestration at their hotel. The panel is not permitted to discuss the case except in the jury room........

It was 4pm est. But curious that Geragos nor Lee Peterson did not show up; one has to figure they both knew, with the speed of this last set of jurors coming back.

"Geragos nor Lee Peterson did not show up;"

Well so much for support from YOUR OWN LAWYER.

I bet Lee knew he was guilty all the time and just keeping Jackie happy.

Let's hope the Hackings don't put all their money into his defense.

I think the trial is in April? We'll all meet again for that one for sure.

I just found the link on the internet - there is a college student from 7 years ago still missing. Scott was sent a letter asking him what he knew of her as he was one of 100 students who had had contact with the Smart girl who is missing still today. A student who was with her last is the prime suspect but he has not been arrested. Yet now that we know Scott killed his wife and had something to do with the other girl at college it is time, I think, to look into him as a suspect and at least interview him about the missing Smart girl to see if he had anything to do with it?

Some have speculated that this isn't Scott's first kill. I don't know.

There were links to that info from the early early threads on this case.

Just sitting here reading through the thread having a small glass of wine toasting ALL the good things that have happened so far this month.

President Bush for another 4 years, Yassar Arafat dies, Taking over Fallujah, Justice for Laci and Conner. Soon will be my daughters birthday, My birthday, and hopefully we will have a Republican Governor,Rossi, for the state of Washington.

Ah yes! Things are looking good. November is definitely the month TO GIVE THANKS IN.

runningbear, thank you so much for keeping these threads going all this time. It was such a sad case that brought us all together. But your familiarity with the area brought back memories of my time living in Calif. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
psssssst! what will be the next case we will be working on?:-)

Nancy Grace reported he was sitting next to Ron, quietly before the verdict. I haven't been able to watch much (dammit) and have been reading all of you to catch up.

This is honestly more than I really hoped for, second was the best I thought we would get and I really thought hung was going to be the case.

For once, no matter what happens in the appeals process (and the scumbag MG knew damn well what was coming down) the right thing was done.

Ohhhhhh, Justin alert, Dan Abrams.....
