CBS NEWS interrupted the final minutes of Wednesday night's episode of CSI: NEW YORK in order to air a special report about the death of Yasser Arafat. CBS has apologized and says it will rebroadcast the episode, in its entirety FRIDAY at 9PM CENTRAL TIME.
"An overly aggressive CBS News producer jumped the gun with a report that should have been offered to local stations for their late news. We sincerely regret the error. The episode of CSI: NEW YORK will be rebroadcast Friday, Nov. 12."
Thanks for posting this. I TIVO'd this episode and probably would have missed the ending. Now I can watch the whole thing.
That's big of See BS. They could run an hour-long test pattern on Friday night and nobody would notice. Traditionally the most ratings-poor night of the week.
Dang. I was kicking myself this morning for forgetting to record this. It looks like I get a second chance.
Wouldn't be surprised if they announced a mid-season replacement sitcom, "I Love Yasser".
I wouldn't be surprised at all if CBS recognized Arafat as a bonified Head of State. That's the problem. He was much more the leader of a band of terrorist thugs and killer of women and children. This "tough guy" wasn't worthy of a bulletin announcing his death a week after the fact.
Here's your solution, seriously, finally!
They pre-empted the last 1 to 1 1/2 minutes....at the end of which they could have interrupted the credits and the next week's show preview instead. So, what is it we call the CBS guys? My vote would be "idiots" but that would be an insult to idiots.
What else is new? CBS's 'overly aggressive' 60 Minutes team tried to run with a blatantly faked set of 4 memos trying to slam-dunk Bush before the election.
The integrity/intelligence of CBS producers has become a national joke.
The uppity news guys interrupted the only show on seeBS that draws an audiance.
Forget the apology. Send those CSI guys to figure out what Arafat died of.
An overly aggressive CBS News producer was of the opinion the death of a terrorist is a tragic turning point in world history and thought we all should be notified immediately so mourning could commence.
If they had interrupted with fireworks and praise he finally found his way to hell, I could understand the interruption.
Couldn't be any worse than Fox showing the guy blowing kisses to everyone, over and over and over and over for an hour. How repugnant to the human senses.
Just ask the Isrealies. :)
Yawn ....
Now THAT would be a gross episode! The autopsy on Yasser? It would be worse than last weeks slimed cavity partial decomposition.
and then Castro will croak on friday night, ruining the episode again.
RUSH just covered this story on his program today.
