TO ALL VETS...THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU! (VANITY)
Self | Veterans Day 2004 | Jeff Head

Posted on 11/11/2004 6:20:53 AM PST by Jeff Head

Regardless of what branch of service, regardless of what time of service, regardless of speciality, regardless of position or tour of duty...

From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of me and my family and the liberty, security, safety, prosperity, and opportunity we enjoy in this blessed nation...

I want to thank every veteran serving today, yesterday and those who will serve in the furure. Your sacrifice, your service, your commitment and hard work has not gone unnoticed, unappreciated and has NEVER been in vain.

God bless you each and all of your loved ones...and God rest the souls of those who gave all.

Respectfully, thankfully,

Jeff Head

Thank you and all of yours for your service...and for your sentiments regarding the RVN. Thank you to the Swifties for serving so well...twice. Before in Nam...and again here during this election. They have set both examples...of selfless military service and of dedicated civic service. God bless them all.

Amen LG, amen.

It is also said that before the final words were spoken, and the famous Molon Labe uttered, that Xerxes told Leonidas that he had so many archers to assail the Spartans with that their arrows would darken the sky and blot out the son.

...to which Leonidas replied, "Then we shall fight in the shade!"

I found it on the net a long time ago - I would say it was before the wakeup call of 9/11 or else taken in a Blue State :o) but I remember it brought tears to my eyes. It could be anyone's Dad and you just know he's a veteran. Like your small Indiana town, I get goosebumps when the flag or our Armed Forces are presented. God Bless Small Town America and people who have Small Town American hearts.

That is great...we have great great something that was in the Revolutionary War. They had no money to pay him and he was given land in Indiana instead.

And I wish to thank YOU for your kind words! Yes, it IS the combat veteran(s) who deserve the most gratitude and plaudits for their time and even for their lives; however, if not for the guys and gals behind the lines, the ones giving support whether by paper or computer, those on the front lines would hardly have a snowball's chance in heat to be victorious. We ALL serve, served, or will serve in the future to support the ones who are on the front lines. Bless you for your words.

It is heartwarming to Recife all this attention after so many years.

I think the country (most of it) has gone through a cathartic change and have reconnected with the military after the damage done by the likes of John Kerry and the VVAW creeps.

Although I never made it to Vietnam, (not for lack of trying)and spent most all of my three years of duty from 1969-72 in West Germany, I have carried this horrid guilt for all these years that someone I should know died in my place. I carried the burden of this and still do, but now I am more content with it.

That content stems from the fact that the guy who died in my place has the respect and admiration that were denied to him for reasons I can not yet fully comprehend.

Then again, I fail to see the reasons for a great deal of things. I suppose that is why I try to give it all to God and let him sort it out.

I thank you, and that other guy thanks you, for thanking us.

I think that made sense.............................

Good evening.

May the Lord keep safe our soldiers in battle, and may He comfort their family and friends at home.

And may God bless America.
