Bush Reaches Out to Press Corps By Jeff Gannon Talon News November 9, 2004
WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Ever since Sen. John Kerry conceded the presidential election to him, President George W. Bush has been reaching out to those who opposed him. Last week in his victory speech, he called for Democrats to join with him to move forward on Social Security reform and tax simplification.
In a hastily called press conference on Thursday, the president declared that he was reaching out to the White House press corps and invited their questions. A subdued group of journalists asked about personnel changes in the Cabinet and which agenda items might take priority in the second term.

Members of the journalism establishment grumble about the "demotion" of Hearst columnist Helen Thomas, 82, regarded as the doyenne of the White House press corps. For decades, Thomas had been given front row seating at presidential press conferences and always asked the first question. That tradition ended when George W. Bush became the chief executive. Now Thomas often finds herself relegated to the back rows and never called on to pose a question.
{Gee, I wonder why!}
She has been quoted on several occasions as saying, "This is the worst president ever. He is the worst president in all of American history."

the President should make sure that red district papers and local stations get 52% of the questions...it would help to change the questions from the posturing dimwits from the MSM.
These people have gotten used to being allowed -- generally without challenge -- to use one set of adjectives (mostly negative) for one side, and another set of adjectives (mostly positive) for the other. They like to pretend, perhaps for their own self image, to be "objective." This facade has been for the most part demolished and now they are in some cases impotent with rage. Impotent because they perhaps cannot be truly objective -- they are simply unable to do it. For to be truly objective requires a framework called reality, which approximately half of the post WWII populace has abandoned for one fantasy or another. Most modern "journalists" are essentially incapable of objectivity, because they are unable to abandon their own illusions.
No, she can't swim...
She's not a reporter anymore is she?? She's an opinion columnist now right?
Hard to believe Bush doesn't give the old bag a a position of honor.
Someone asked Bush about his thoughts on the old crone. He said, "Thomas? Thomas? Oh! Yes! That's the woman who had her face catch on fire, and someone tried to put it out with an ice pick. Seems to me she used to sit up here in front. Wonder what ever became of her."
Love at first sight fright.
LOL.
Even more reason....
She looks like GranPa Munster
Is she one of the triplets consisting of Reno, Albright?
John
Helen Thomas' perception and politics are her ugly parts.
Unless, of course, you or anyone would happen to be a stone-blind unregenerate Marxist with a tin ear. And probably drunk out of your skull and terminally horny to boot.
GWB is a man of rare self-restraint, in that he is able to refrain from suggesting that Helen be allowed to sit in the front row as long as she agrees to wear a paper bag over her head.
"It's a tosss-up which one I hate most, really: Bush, or that @#$%ing BATMAN -- !" :)

Exaclty. She used to be the UPI reporter - and the 1st question in Prez-conferences alternated between the AP & UPI - and the last question came from the wire reporter that didn't get to ask the first question.
hhhsssss....
She's not a reporter, she's a columnist.
Good. This symbolic "slap in the face" is well deserved, as she seems to take pleasure at mocking Bush whenever she has the chance.
swimming pool
