President Bush yesterday moved aggressively to resurrect his plan to relax rules against illegal immigration, a move bound to anger conservatives just days after they helped re-elect him.
The president met privately in the Oval Office with Sen. John McCain to discuss jump-starting a stalled White House initiative that would grant legal status to millions of immigrants who broke the law to enter the United States.

Do people ever lose limbs on that job? And it gets in with the meat? Just wondering...
Not much, if you read the legislation that Reagan signed and the language of the Bush proposal. And what Reagan did is what brought us to where we are today.
You probably feel safe from the illegals bleeding you dry in Michigan. No worries, when they are done with the border states, they will move on to other areas. When you realize that all your tax dollars are going to the care of illegals and their anchor babies, you won't be so supportive.
Hey loser, you arguements are at least coherent (thank you for that). You do make some sense.
As far as the final statement, this goes back to the age-old ethics question. Is it ethical to steal a loaf of bread if your family is starving.
I don't know the answer. Neither do I think it is that dire in Mexico. We have our own poor here.
I think more of it is want than need, but I have nothing to back that up but an opinion formed from those I interact with.
They come to my neighborhood to drink and pass out. I'm pretty sure they have beer and alleys in Mexico.
Sure do. I've treated a few of these folks from the local slaughter house with missing digits in the past.
And it gets in with the meat? Just wondering...
Er, uh....ewww. Good reason to eat more vegetables!
LOL We have the most generous immigration laws of any nation on Earth, and it's going to get more generous becuase there will be a guest worker program of some sort, we're only debating the details. There is no starvation to speak of in Mexico, and there are many law-abiding immigration and guest-worker candidates who have been waiting their turns and abiding by our rules, for years. You don't think it's wrong to reward the illegal aliens who violate our laws?
It was a campaign promise without meaning in English.
Its pretty clear to me, this is not Bill Clinton and his meaning of the word "is". No amnesty no jumping in line.
Mexico on the other hand would implode in violent revolution should all the illegals return home. The real problem is the corrupt government in Mexico and their exporting their problem to us. Enough is enough, illegals are starting to be a real drain on our society and our way of life. There are plenty of folks willing to come here and become Americans, learn the language, the values and the history. Illegals are denying them there opportunity to come here, allowing illegal lets Mexico get away continuing it's corrupt oligarchy government. It is INHUMAIN and madness to continue and encourage such a policy.
They certainly contribute more to society than they take. And besides, the positive response Bush recieved from the Hispanic community on election day tells me he needs to keep doing what he's doing.
I found HUGE Spider parts in my bag of sugar one year...after it was half gone...so I'm leary of stuff like this.
LOL! They've already jumped in line, and the Bush proposal would legalize them in place. It's laughable to say that's not an amnesty, and consequently the Bush proopsal will fail because it won't pass the smell test.
Would you have a problem with a guest worker proposal like Tom Tancredo's, which would require applications from the country of origin?
They already did.
Where are the Bushies? A few days ago, I got an email from a Bushie trying to rally support to repeal the 22nd Amendment so Bush can run for a third term. Apparantly, Bush is indispensible. (Unlike Washington, who refused a third term precisely because he believed that no mortal man was indispensible to republican government.)

>"...hellova place to start-in boyz & girlz."<
Watt? You mean W's not going to start his new term by reforming the tax code, as I suggested?
huh.
HA!!
Yea, that's right sonny.
You "got it," eh?
It's true.
...you *are* the gifted one of the family. :o)
Are you taking the the word of a leftist newspaper like the Denver Post?
