I just got a call from my sister. My nephew, Travis, shot himself and is on life-support. He's not expected to live. Details are sketchy at this point.
I'm calling on all FR prayer warriors to send their prayers Heavenward.
My prayers are for Our Lords comfort for your family. May he wrap his arms around all of you and give you peace
My prayers are with you and your family. May God watch over you in this time of trial.

In the case that it was intentional, I pray that God show him the error of his ways and enlighten him about the value of life..

Jellybean, depression is an illness of the brain and is nothing to be ashamed of anymore than stomach cancer is something to be ashamed of. Travis is not a bad person because he suffers from depression and God doesn't hold him responsible for things over which he had no control.
In it's worst clinical states, depression is so painful that the sufferer can see no other way out other than ending their life. It's a horrible disease but it's a disease that can be treated. I pray that Travis survives and that he will get the treatment he needs to lead a restored life.
The good of one's life is not based on one mistake - even though that mistake is the last one they make. Do not let his family forget the beautiful and good, even though it may seem far away...
But this may not be the last mistake - I lift him up to the God who made him.
Father, you know Travis. You have loved him since first he was dreamed by You. I ask You please, in this time, let him see Your face and be aware of Your hand upon him, that he might know You and know he is loved.
I ask you to heal Travis; I do this in the name of Jesus, whom You sent to save us...
