Why should they be branded terrorists? Surely they are the equivilent to a resistance force?

I got an idea!

Why'nt you go on down there and see for yourself?

These mid-operation are all speculation in any event. We discovered during the BASH last year that the most reliable reports had come exclusively from CENTCOM, not surprisingly. The second most reliable were from some of the best Blogs, like Belmont and CommandPost. The least reliable were from our sworn enemies like Aljazz, China, liberal English, and France.

Most of the rest of the world knows that, too.

I was hesitant to post as this as it isn't "official".
May God comfort those who mourn and those who wait at home.

That's a "medium" howitzer? Good Lord what would heavy artillery be? Depends...

American version--155 MM SP Howitzer (actually I think this is still "medium", but stick with me here)

Terrorist verion--1.55 MM SP (spitball projector) Howitzer (five pictured here...)

I knew that there was a count MEG. Last night when Aaron Brown questioned Jane Araff about the casualty count. She responded that she was not at liberty to say.

Gen.Metz on FOX said maybe a dozen U.S.soldiers killed since battle begun.Streets are mined just like they were in Sadr City.
Iraqi police took the Mosque in Falluja today.
Iraqi soldiers are searching the Mosques and finding weapons.
No real numbers on enemy killed or captured.
Falluja is the cancer and once we remove it we can move on to treatment.

Everything the UN does is proof that power corrupts

Right - he's not naive, he's just trying to cover his and his son's butt - he doesn't want any more proof of his illegal dealings with Saddam coming to light

We need to get OUT of the UN and get the UN out of the US...

Bush warned them back in 2001 - I'm hoping he'll now follow thru' and declare them "Irrelevant!" who will they be without the US and US $?

"Irrelevant Supreme"

Battle for Fallujah May Take Several Days

ROBERT BURNS, AP Military Writer

WASHINGTON - There could be several more days of intense fighting in the U.S.-led battle to retake Iraq (news - web sites)'s rebel-controlled city of Fallujah, the commander of land forces said on the second day of the assault.

Army Lt. Gen. Thomas F. Metz refused to say how many American troops have been killed in the operation, saying only that casualties can be counted "in a dozen" and not specifying whether than included wounded.

Metz said troops have captured a very small number of rebel fighters but had "imposed significant casualties against the enemy." Again, he declined to be specific.

"I think we're looking at several more days of tough urban fighting," Metz told a Pentagon (news - web sites) news conference relayed by video from Baghdad.

Two U.S. Soldiers Killed in Mortar Attack on Mosul, Iraq, Base

Nov. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Two U.S. soldiers were killed in a mortar attack on a military base in Mosul, a city in northern Iraq, the U.S.-led coalition press office said in an e-mailed statement from Baghdad.

One soldier was killed at the time of the attack and the other died of wounds sustained in the assault, which came at about 10 a.m. local time, the military said.

A civilian contractor was wounded in the attack and evacuated to a military hospital in Baghdad, the statement said. None of the victims was identified.

The deaths came as U.S. and Iraqi troops in west-central Iraq battled for control of Fallujah, a city held by insurgents and one the U.S. and interim Iraqi governments say must be pacified for national elections to take place in January.
